Ben and Gwen look for the infamous Bojamboo and discover that it's actually the Forgeti; Ben and Kevin reverse roles after being blasted with the Forgeti's forgetfulness mist.
Plot[]
In a forest, Team Tennyson arrives at an annual Bojamboo festival. They observe a wooden statue of the Forgeti (labelled as the Bojamboo), none of them being able to remember their previous encounters with the creature. However, Gwen thinks it seems familiar to them. Just then, one of the attendees of the festival makes a toast to their good harvest. Max leaves to go drink some Bojamboo juice. Ben, meanwhile, is impressed by the various snacks the festival sells. Gwen is surprised Ben isn't complaining and having a good time, which prompts Ben to angerly ask her to name one time he complained. Gwen then reminds Ben of the several times he has complained, but he remains oblivious. He says he can't wait to take a picture of the Bojamboo mascot. Gwen counters that the Bojamboo is as real as the Forgeti is, but Ben doubts her on that, too. They part ways, with Ben hiding behind the Bojamboo's offerings so he can take a photo so he can prove he's just a guy in a mascot costume.
Ben tries to wait, but easily falls asleep. He wakes up to discover all the offerings are missing. He transforms into Rath to sniff out the supposed guy in the mascot costume, and he follows a trail of apples. He follows them into a cave, where he finds more offerings. He steps up to take a photo, but quickly realizes it is a trap as he is tied up by a rope and hung from the ceiling. He drops his phone on the ground. Rath times out, and Ben calls out for the Bojamboo, only to find Kevin. Kevin explains his plan of capturing the Bojamboo and selling it to the highest bidder. Ben mocks his spiked phone case and decides Kevin is up to no good. He activates the Omnitrix and transforms into Humungousaur. He frees himself from the trap and Kevin transforms into Dark Matter. The two briefly fight before simultaneously timing out and resorting to pushing each other. The Forgeti then appears, shocking both of them. It releases its memory-erasing mist as Kevin tries to get a photo, but he drops his phone. They both breathe in the mist.
Later, Ben walks back to the festival, unaware of where or who he is. He realizes his phone can help jog is memory, but accidentally hurts himself on the spike-adorned phone case. Regardless, he is impressed by how cool the phone looks, and assumes he is cool. He realizes he doesn't have any contacts, and realizes he's a cool loner-type. Kevin, meanwhile, looks in a shiny plate in an attempt to remember who he is. He is grossed out by his mullet, but then gets a text from Gwen asking where Ben is. She asks him to grab Max's banjo. Kevin puts it together and believes his name is Ben, and because their names rhyme, he and Gwen are related. Elsewhere, Ben dons an orange collared shirt with ripped-off sleeves. He looks further through his phone, and sees a bad guy checklist. Ben deduces he must be a bad guy.
At a picnic table, Max explains to Gwen how good he is at playing the banjo. Kevin then shows up with his banjo, complete with him wearing Ben's shirt and having his hair style. Gwen and Max are perplexed, and ask him what he is doing there. He explains that he is a hero, and that heroes do good deeds. He elaborates, explaining that he wrote in his diary, a kid named Kevin always shows up and does something bad. Kevin vows to stop him if he sees him, and runs off. Max wonders if they should do something about it, but Gwen thinks they're fine as long as nothing is on fire. Max starts shredding on his banjo, and Gwen worries he'll get them kicked out.
Now wearing a helmet, Ben prepares to steal a motorcycle. However, he falls off of it and it drives off without him. The motorcycle barely misses Kevin, who is learning about his ability to turn into aliens. He places the motorcycle where it originally was, but accidentally knocks down the entire lineup of motorcycles. A biker yells at him, and he makes a getaway. Ben, meanwhile, sits by some haystacks. He consults the list again, and reads Kevin's Bojamboo plan, noting how it doesn't make sense. He decides to go through with the plan anyways, as Kevin similarly consults Ben's phone and sees his Bojamboo scheme. He notices Ben looking for Bojamboo bait, and realizes he must be Kevin.
Kevin tells Ben he's not going to get away with trashing the place, but Ben just finds him annoying and tries to leave. However, he's tackled by Kevin. The two begin to fight, and they attempt to use their watches as weapons. Kevin accidentally activates the Omnitrix, transforming Ben into Heatblast. While Heatblast tests out his newfound powers, Kevin tries to activate the Antitrix. However, Heatblast surrounds him with fire. He leaves Kevin behind while he prepares for a better plan.
Back at the picnic table, Max and Gwen notice balls of fire erupting in the forest. Max goes to evacuate the festival goers, while Gwen gets some water to deal with the fire. Max hijacks the performance, announcing that the forest is on fire. However, the crowd misunderstands, believing it is a song. Max decides to trick the crowd into thinking the Bojamboo went the way of evacuation, which they collectively fall for.
In the forest, Heatblast tries to lure out the Bojamboo with his fire. Quickly, the forest is set ablaze, and Ben realizes his mistake. He then questions why he cares if he is a villain, but before he can think too much, he is doused in green water. Kevin as Undertow appears, extinguishing the flames, and tells Heatblast that caring is his biggest weakness. He similarly realizes it isn't very heroic of him to say. Heatblast and Undertow rush towards each other, but are interrupted by the Forgeti. Realzing the Bojamboo is the Forgeti, Heatblast pursues it. Undertow says "Not so fast, Tennyson!", only to be confused as to why he's calling him by that name. He creates a wave of water that carries both Heatblast and the Forgeti to the festival, where Max and Gwen finish extinguishing the fire. Heatblast reverts back to Ben, and Gwen asks him if started the mess. Ben corrects them, calling himself Kevin, and explains he planned to flush out the Forgeti. He leaves to try again, and his family connects the dots.
As the Forgeti recovers, Undertow follows it, quick-changing into Bashmouth. He traps the Forgeti in a crater, "saving" it. Gwen asks him when he's going to realize he's not the best hero, which angers Bashmouth. He yells out that he's the best at everything, and Gwen yells that there's a monster trying to eat her. Ben as Rath jumps in to save her, although he is not sure why. As he leaps in to fight Kevin, Max asks Gwen what she did, to which she explains she played to their insticts. Rath and Bashmouth go at it, while Gwen and Max try to remind Ben of who he really is. Kevin and Ben realize they make for a good villain and hero respectively, and they sock each other in the face. Ben and Kevin time out and fall down, too tired to fight on. Kevin admits to Ben that being heroic isn't easy, and Ben admits the same for being a bad guy. Max believes everything will be fine once they explain the situation to the townspeople, but the Forgeti sneaks up behind the four and unleashes its memory-erasing mist. Once it clears, Max finds himself and the kids surrounded by angry townspeople, having forgotten about the events that just happened.
Ben: Dang, I got a cool phone! I must be a pretty cool dude. (checks Kevin's phone) No contacts? That doesn't sound very cool. Or...I'm a cool loner-type.
Kevin: (reading Ben's phone) Looks like I was gonna take a picture of the Bojamboo to show Gwen it was fake. Why would I write this down? Well, I guess it's time to prove Gwen wrong.
Bashmouth: So maybe I'm not the best hero! But I sure make a great bad guy! Rath: Yeah? Well, I make a pretty great Ben!
