XLR8 in a secret room
World Rescue is a platformer game, where you pick levels designed for one of five aliens. Each alien has two levels to their name, shared across five locations: Paris, London, Rio de Janeiro, Tokyo and Yucatán. Each level consists of two to three sections, which are filled with enemies, traps, as well as two kinds of pick-ups. Green pick-ups restore your health bar all the way, while blue pick-ups refill your bar allowing you to use special attacks. Additionally, the screen will stop scrolling at certain points, which causes portals to open, summoning the Forever Knight's henchmen. Lastly, the player can find secret areas, which award a gold star to the level icon upon completion. These secret areas are hidden behind a wall with the Omnitrix marked on them. After you complete one alien's first level, the second is unlocked.
Four Arms, Cannonbolt and Slapback are the strongest, being able to break walls and easily defeat enemies. They differ in their special attacks, as Cannonbolt shoots himself forward in his sphere form, and Slapback attacks all around him. XLR8 is the fastest alien, and his special attack has him whirl around. Stinkfly is capable of jumping twice and shooting slime projectiles. His special attack also has him shooting slime, but it has a shorter range in exchange for more damage.
Following the completion of all 10 levels, a final level is unlocked in the North Pole. There is a short level leading into a boss fight with the Forever Knight, where you play as XLR8. The Forever Knight can only be hit once his flail is extended. Once his health bar is depleted, he retreats, and Ben pursues him as Slapback. Upon his second defeat, the Forever Knight again retreats, and Ben uses Four Arms. Finally, after defeating the Forever Knight for a third time, Max is saved, but not Gwen.
Mission 2 is then unlocked, allowing for you to play as Heatblast, Rath, Humungousaur, Shock Rock and Diamondhead.
