Team Tennyson's thrift store shopping is ruined by LaGrange's latest high-speed heist involving a superfast electromagnetic racing car.
Plot[]
In a city, a speeding red car drives by some locals, stealing a purse and a dog from them. At a café situated near a thrift store, Team Tennyson enjoy some drinks along with their new wares. Gwen and Max, however, are disturbed by Ben, who keeps pausing and unpausing their CD player. Gwen asks him to cut it out, and Ben opens the machine, asking if it's a DVD. Max explains to him what a CD is, and how they're better than HDMP3s. Ben questions their thrift store purchase, and shows off his purchase - a tattered 1987 Sumo Slammers special edition arcade tournament t-shirt. Gwen says nobody wants his shirt, only to be proven wrong once the red car snatches it away from Ben.
Ben follows the car, while Max suggests to Gwen they listen to another song. Ben yells at the car to stop, which it does, surprising Ben. It turns around, and Ben is met by LaGrange as the driver, joined by Kevin (as Dark Matter) in the back. Dark Matter's hands are stuck into tubes coursing with a maroon liquid. He wears the t-shirt, the purse, and carries the dog with him. Ben demands his shirt back, but Kevin claims it as his own and accidentally loses the dog. LaGrange tells him not to worry, since they can just steal more animals. Ben questions LaGrange, since his gimmick is wanting to go fast. LaGrange refuses to tell Ben his plan, and he and Kevin try to speed off. However, the fuel runs empty and the car stalls. He demands Dark Matter for a refill, which Dark Matter complies with, albeit annoyed from LaGrange's lack of manners. The car's fuel is restored, but Ben isn't having it and transforms into Cannonbolt. LaGrange drives off and he rolls up and follows.
The two parties race around city, accidentally stealing and destroying a thrift shop's donated items. Cannonbolt leaps into the air and rear-ends the car repeatedly. Dark Matter knocks him back into the road. Cannonbolt reverts back to Ben. Dark Matter, meanwhile, has had enough of petty crimes and tells LaGrange he wants to rob a bank. However, LaGrange turns away from the banks, and Dark Matter asks what's going on. LaGrange reveals he has alternative plans, as he locks Dark Matter's hands in the tubes. Forced to extract his cerebrospinal fluid in great amounts, Dark Matter begins feeling woozy. LaGrange speeds up, leaving the city. XLR8 then catches up to the car. LaGrange remarks he picked "Speed Boy" this time, to which XLR8 boldly states the transformation's given name. The two begin arguing, but LaGrange is suddenly kicked in the back of his head by Dark Matter. The car briefly loses control, tripping up XLR8. LaGrange changes his plan, removing Dark Matter's cuffs. In their place rises a metallic cylinder, which similarly traps Dark Matter. Even more fluid starts being extracted from him.
LaGrange explains to Dark Matter that he cannot let him go, as he is the key to becoming world-famous. XLR8 catches up again and asks why he is obsessed with racing. LaGrange solemnly tells his backstory of him being banned from pro-speed chess tournaments. XLR8 calls him a nerd, which Dark Matter laughs at. His joy is short-lived as he is once again drained of his cerebrospinal fluid, causing pain. XLR8 speeds ahead of LaGrange's car, stopping directly in front of it. He leaps in the air and tries to kick LaGrange, but misses. He narrowly grabs the back end of the car. He explains his plan of taking Dark Matter out, thereby stopping the car. Dark Matter agrees, shocking XLR8. He asks why he hasn't broken out yet, and Dark Matter explains he can't because of the device. XLR8 tells him to transform into Quad Smack so he can just smash his way out of it. Just as LaGrange reaches full fuel capacity, Dark Matter transforms into Quad Smack, freeing himself. He grabs LaGrange from behind, but his seatbelt holds him in. He refuses to be stopped that easily, and turns the steering wheel with his foot, causing the car to spin out. Quad Smack and XLR8 are thrown off the vehicle, yelling LaGrange's name. LaGrange drives off, satisfied with the fuel he had collected.
In a park, Ben and Kevin (having reverted from their alien forms) get up. Ben, however, is unconcerned, and he prepares to leave. He calls up Glitch, who drives onto the scene. He asks for his shirt back, but Kevin refuses, infuriating Ben. He asks what he has to do to get his shirt back, and Kevin asks for his help getting back at LaGrange. Kevin passes off his request as Ben's responsibility as a hero, and he reluctantly agrees. Ben and Kevin transform into Humungousaur and Rush respectively. They both try to hop in Glitch's seat, but only one fits. Humungousaur pushes Rush out, infusing Glitch with Vaxasaurian DNA. Glitch greets Humungousaur, and the latter suggests they catch up to LaGrange. However, Glitch rejects the notion, as he just finished his rideshare shift and is on his break. Humungousaur instead suggests Rush pushes Glitch. Glitch explains to Humungousaur that LaGrange also happens to work a rideshare job, and he is able to track him through the app. The three leave to follow LaGrange to Japan. Meanwhile, Max and Gwen have some ice cream.
In Japan, LaGrange speeds through a city, breaking speed records. He drives all the way to the Great Wall of China, which the car effortlessly bounds over. He lands in Paris and disturbs a couple's date.
Back in the small city, Gwen and Max have finished eating their ice cream. Max suggests they now "stunt 'em", and they walk through the streets of the city in their new clothes, impressing the locals.
LaGrange races through the South Pole, celebrating his sheer speed. However, his speedometers soon start to break. Glitch, Humungousaur and Rush catch up and rear-end LaGrange's car. He tries to speed up, but the tubes containing Dark Matter's fluid start to shatter, draining the car of fuel. Rush tells Lagrange he is going to regret using him for his powers, which causes Humungousaur to point out he's wrecking things all over the world. Rush then points out his hypocrisy, as he was only willing to help so he could get his shirt back.
Back with Gwen and Max, the former spots vintage pins in a store window. She sees a blue cat pin. Just then, LaGrange and his pursuers drive back into the city. Glitch suggests some car chase music, but Humungousaur quickly rejects the idea. LaGrange yells at Humungousaur and Rush, telling them they ruined his shot at glory. Humungousaur retorts by sating they're going to ruin his new car. Glitch launches Rush at Lagrange, and he grabs ahold of the steering wheel. They turn a corner, and Gwen tosses her new pin onto the ground, deciding she doesn't like it. The pin pokes a hole in LaGrange's car's tire, making it spin out. Rush is thrown back onto Glitch, as LaGrange crashes into a fire hydrant. Glitch stops and his hatch flips up, launching Rush away. Humungousaur celebrates.
Later, the police arrest LaGrange. Although he racked up around $3.5 million in seven different countries, trespassed on six world heritage sites, and ruined a Japanese tea ceremony, LaGrange believes it is a small price to pay for reaching the highest speed ever recorded. Meanwhile, Gwen reclaims her cat pin. Kevin compliments her move, and Ben requests his shirt back from him. he hands it back to Ben, who happily redons his shirt.
