Vicetopus is the Nemetrix's DNA sample of a Vicetopus from the planet Encephalonus IV. It is the predatory species of Cerebrocrustaceans.

Appearance

Vicetopus is a large, dark red octopus-like creature with a long body and many long tentacles along its stomach. It has a beaked mouth, two large red eyes and brown spots covering its back.

Vicetopus wears a red spiked collar with the Nemetrix on it.

Powers and Abilities

Vicetopus can extend its tentacles and has enhanced strength. Its tentacles can squeeze hard enough to crack a Cerebrocrustacean's shell, as exhibited when it squeezed Dr. Psychobos in one of its tentacles, resulting in a loud cracking sound.

Vicetopus first appeared in Showdown: Part 1, where Vicetopus trapped Dr. Psychobos in order to reveal where Malware was.

Khyber's Panuncian

In A Fistful of Brains, one of the Panuncian's clones used its Nemetrix to transform into Vicetopus after the Panuncian cornered Ben.

Etymology

Vicetopus's name is a portmanteau of the words 'vice' and 'octopus'.

Trivia

Vicetopus being the Cerebrocrustaceans' natural predator is based on how real-life octopuses hunt crabs. Even the way Vicetopus crushes Dr. Psychobos is how octopuses eat crabs, by crushing them and eating the meat inside.
