Tokyo Fun Part 1: Big Bugg Bash is the one hundred and thirty-seventh episode of Ben 10.

Synopsis

While in Tokyo, Team Tennyson learns that Japan’s hottest new restaurant is being run by the Bugg Brothers as a nefarious scheme to make loads of money off an unsuspecting public.

Plot

Cannonbolt blends in

As Team Tennyson flies to Tokyo in the Omni-Copter, Ben and Gwen watch a promotional video for the city on their tablet. Upon landing, they decide to have some food before the games' opening ceremony. At a place called the Super Awesome Extra Big Food Café, the three help themselves to oversied versions of food, but don't find themselves getting any fuller. Ben notices the bus girl going into the back, and sees Maurice smirking. Ben sneaks into the back as Cannonbolt, where he finds Maurice talking to Sydney, and his new intern, Charlemange. Cannonbolt reverts back to Ben, and he sees them use a device called the Grow-a-tron to grow the size of the food. Maurice exposits to Charlemange his plan to scam people so they can become a global franchise, but is repeatedly annoyed by the intern's desire to attend the theme park.

Max and the badminton team

Ben confronts the three, and transforms into Omni-Kix Heatblast to fight Sydney. Meanwhile, Max meets the local badminton team, and Gwen follows Ben into the back after hearing a crash. During their fight, they bust the Grow-a-tron, making it enlarge several fruits. They leave the back, and the players are forced to help fend off the fruit. Back in the kitchen, Charlemange is hit by the Grow-a-tron, and grows exponentially. Another beam hits Ben, and Maurice grabs the device. He gets Charlemange to rescue Sydney from the freezer he was trapped it, and the three make an escape. Max and Gwen find Ben to be massive, and he pursues the Bugg Brothers and Charlemange.

Humungousaur and Charlemange at the theme park

While Ben searches for them, Max and Gwen go get the Omni-Copter. As Ben catches up to Charlemange, Maurice increases his intern's size. Charlmange tries to head to the theme park, but Maurice tries to deter. Suddenly, Ben tackles the insect, sending them all into the nearby water. Charlemange emerges from the waves, bigger than ever. Ben sees that Charlemange wants to visit the theme park, but Maurice and Syndey force him to fight Ben. Ben transforms into Humungousaur, which Maurice counters by further enlarging Charlemange. However, he accidentally drops the Grow-a-tron into the ocean. After a reminder from Gwen that being bigger isn't always better, Humungousaur tries to appeal to Charlemange's desire to visit the theme park again. Humungousaur manages to knock Maurice and Syndey off of Charlemange's head. At the theme park, Humungousaur and Charlemange aren't allowed on a rollercoaster because of how tall they are, much to the former's dismay.

Continuity

• Max performs an identical badminton technique to one that was seen in Clown College, involving three people forming a badminton racket for one person.

Errors

• During Omni-Kix Heatblast's transformation sequence, he is shown possessing his upper pipes early on, however, seconds later both his upper and lower pipes are shown being spawned from his backpack.
