I made some updates to the ref tag system:
The Proposal:
Instead of all ref tags appearing as [x], I suggest, for sources that are decidedly not as canon as the show, or second rate canon (eg. pop-ups and crew members' statements), they appear like this:
Pros:
For the statements from external sources, the reader can see the source of the statement without having to jump to the references section, and judge the statement accordingly. The information doesn't get muddled up with more legitimate/canon stuff from in-show, which will continue using normal ref tags.
It removes the necessity to add 2 ref tags for crew statements, as the tag itself will show the initials of the crew member or source, while the references section will show the full name.
Cons:
Being a little nitpick-y, but this will make the contents and references section a tad bit longer (albeit also making the references section more organised, not that it was a requirement, though)
DISCLAIMER:
This suggestion post is NOT about the canonicity of external sources. This is NOT a debate on whether crew members' statements and/or pop-ups should be considered first level canon, second level canon, or non-canon, or "canon if it lines up with the show, non-canon if it doesn't" or any other version. It is simply about whether this new style of REF tags should be adopted by the Wiki or not.
For your vote to be counted, you must type out one of the three templates in source mode. {{Support}}, {{Neutral}} or {{Oppose}}
