On Facebook, a user asked Duncan Rouleau about if Kevin and Charmcaster were created to stay villains or Man of Action planned on them becoming anti-heroes all along. Rouleau's reply was the latter.
So this settles two questions that have often been debated:
1. Was Kevin's turn to the good side ever going to happen had Man of Action stayed more involved with the franchise, or would they have kept him a villain? It turns out that yes, they would have had him turn to the good side too, albeit nowhere near as rushed as it was in Alien Force and with him probably keeping his pre-established powers rather than the Absorbing Man ones he was given.
2. Was Charmcaster on the road to redemption in Ultimate Alien and Omniverse, or was she just going to stay a villain? It turns out that yes, she was fated to join the good side, and apparently Gwen's line about them being able to become friends now at the end of Third Time's a Charm was an obvious indicator that if Gwen had gotten her own show, Charmcaster would indeed become her friend and ally.
So with this in mind, now that Man of Action are in charge of the reboot, do you hope to finally see Kevin and Charmcaster become anti-heroes the way their creators envisioned?
