There wasn't a point in throwing all that development away on Ben. Cartoon Network was being their stupid selves. Heck, CN kicked Man of Action off of Ben 10 which was then afterwards followed by Dwayne McDuffie and Glen Murikami being called in to write Alien Force. McDuffie, and possibly Murikami, didn't even watch the Original Series and therefore have little understanding of what they're really working on. Ever since Man of Action was kicked out by CN, we ended up getting three terrible and disappointing sequels and the series went on a decline, all thanks to Cartoon Network. If Man of Action was still around back then, we wouldn't had got AF, UA, and OV. We would of got Ben 10 Hero Generation instead, which I believe is supposed to be the true sequel to the Original Series.
In the Original Series, Ben was also strategic and tactical. He grew and developed himself to understand the importance of having a strategy and began utilizing it more as the Original Series progressed.
