Team Tennyson[1][2][AC 1] was originally formed for the purpose of going on a cross country road trip for summer vacation, but after Ben found the Omnitrix, the group began encountering all sorts of villains during their travels both terrestrial and extraterrestrial in origin. Due to many of these threats wanting the Omnitrix in their possession, and thanks to Ben's insistence, the group decided to become part-time superheroes and neutralize any threats they encountered during their trip.

The group first appeared in And Then There Were 10, in which Max invited Ben and Gwen to join him on a road trip across the USA.
After the went to Yosemite National Park and Ben found the Omnitrix, Vilgax sends the Mechadroids to take the Omnitrix from Ben, two of the Mechadroids are destroyed and Max gives a sermon on Ben for desobeying him, Ben tells to Max how the Omnitrix works and he insists on a hero with it. Max accepts the idea and then, the radio reports that a robot is destroying the forest. The team then goes to the forest and Ben transforms into Diamondhead, after they arrived at the location. The Mechadroid spotted the Omnitrix on Diamondhead's left side of the chest and attacks him.

After the summer vacation was finished, the group had returned to Bellwood and continued to be part-time superheroes and defeated any of the terrestrial and extraterrestrial threats that they encountered as well as going on adventures during the weekend trips that they had for a year.[DJW 1]
After the Omniverse flashbacks, the group disbanded once the Omnitrix was removed from Ben's wrist under unknown circumstances, but a new group would later be formed by Ben, under orders from Max, in order to combat an impending alien invasion.
