Sonorosians are humanoid creatures made from silicon,[1][2] from the planet Sonorosia.[merch 1]
Their evolved counterparts are Evolved Sonorosians.
Appearance
Sonorosians are white humanoids made of silicon.[1][2] The green, circle-shaped indents on the backs of the hands of Sonorosians are sound holes, which help them resonate.[MW 1] They also wear headphones so they would not be hurt by their own sonic screams.[DM 1]
Sonorosians have robot and synthesizer-like voices.
Powers and Abilities
Sonorosians can emit sonic screams that range from audible to ultrasonic frequencies. These screams are capable of damaging machinery, stopping projectiles in mid-flight, blasting enemies backwards, and even damaging Taydenite at the right frequency.[DJW 1] However, technically speaking, they are not as powerful as a Loboan's sonic howls.[DR 1]
Sonorosians can duplicate themselves, but unlike Splixsons, the clones are not linked to each other in any way, allowing entire groups to be knocked out without harming the rest and he can clone himself much faster than Splixsons can. Even if the clones are defeated, the Sonorosian can be fine as long as at least one is still intact.
By combining these two aspects, Sonorosians can create a wall of sound, where they and their clones can redirect projectiles back to their source by bouncing them off of strategically placed clones, as seen during Echo Echo's battle with Argit.[3]
Sonorosians can create an echo chamber, where their clones attack from all directions and keep screaming until the target is knocked out or defeated, as demonstrated in Echo Echo's fights with Helen[4] and Ultimate Kevin.[5]
A Sonorosian's sound holes help them resonate.[MW 1] They can also detect vibrations in the ground.
Using their sonic screams, Sonorosians can locate objects/people, giving them the ability of echolocation.[6]
Sonorosians can channel vibrations to enhance their screams, as seen when Echo Echo touched Kevin, who had absorbed metal that caused him to vibrate when struck by Gwen's mana.[7]
Sonorosians can transmit sound waves through speakers, such as phones.[8]
Sonorosians can use their sonic screams to create a force field.[9]
Sonorosians are quite agile, as they are capable of jumping exceptionally high.[10][3]
Sonorosians seem to have more strength than their size suggests, as Echo Echo can carry a power coupling completely on his own,[11] and kick off the trunk door from the DX Mark 10 with one foot.[5]
With the help of multiple clones, Sonorosians can throw a Plumber Ship about a meter,[12] carry a Murk Gourmand,[13] and hold their own against larger opponents such as the mechanical dragon,[10] a Highbreed,[14] and Ultimate Kevin.[5] These feats were demonstrated by Echo Echo.
Sonorosians also appear to be rather durable, as Echo Echo and his clones were able to withstand being thrown against a wall.[10]
Sonorosians can levitate in the air.[15][16]
Sonorosians can create copies of any object they are holding while making clones.[17][GT 1][note 1]
Because Sonorosians are silicon-based aliens, they are immune to Xenocite possession.[18]
When under the effects of a cold virus, Sonorosians can accidentally unleash sonic sneezes rather than intentional sonic screams.[19]
Weaknesses
A Sonorosian's clones are only durable to a certain extent, as they can be destroyed by Sunder's power axe,[20] an Aerophibian's neuroshock blasts, either a Methanosian or Pyronite's fire attacks, or a Cerebrocrustacean's electric attacks.[5]
Sonorosians can be rendered unconscious if hit by a quill from a member of Argit's species.[3]
Sonorosians can be immobilized by a Necrofriggian's ice breath.[5]
A Sonorosian's sonic screams can easily hurt the ears of other beings in the vicinity.[10][21]
There is a limit to the number of duplicates a Sonorosian can make, which depends on the amount of energy they have access to.[DM 2]
A Sonorosian can be controlled by a Vladat via their Corrupturas.[DJW 3]
Sonorosians would be defenseless against deaf creatures.
Notable Sonorosians
- Echo Echo (the Omnitrix's DNA sample of a Sonorosian)
- Copy Copy (the Hero Watch's DNA sample of a Sonorosian)
- Echo Echo (the Power Watch's DNA sample of a Sonorosian)[22]
Notable Sonorosian Hybrids
- Ultimate Kevin (part Sonorosian)
Etymology
"Sonorosian" is a play on 'sonar', and its associated 'sonorous'.
Trivia
- When asked if Echo Echo is a robot-like alien or if he wears a containment suit, Dwayne McDuffie stated that Echo Echo is a member of a race that "just looks like that".[DM 2]
- According to Derrick J. Wyatt, Echo Echo is actually living sound waves wearing a containment suit.[DJW 4][DJW 5] It is unknown who came up with the latter concept, as Derrick heard it from someone else.[DJW 6]
- When asked if Echo Echo could levitate, Derrick considered it a mistake with his powers.[DJW 7]
Notes
- ↑ According to Derrick J. Wyatt, Echo Echo's object duplication was due to a glitch in the original Ultimatrix. This ability was removed from Echo Echo's DNA when Ben acquired the new Omnitrix in The Ultimate Enemy: Part 2.[DJW 2] However, it is unknown if this is canon as Matt Wayne seemed to be unaware of the existence of glitch powers.[MW 2]
