Smoothies are common blended and sometimes sweetened beverages, and the main fare of Mr. Smoothy stores.

Appearance

In Alien Force and Ultimate Alien, smoothies were distributed through generic smoothie cups with red straws and the Mr. Smoothy logo.

In Omniverse, smoothies are now served in uniquely designed smoothy cups with pink and green straws.

History

Throughout the course of Alien Force, Ultimate Alien and Omniverse they are shown to be one of Ben's favorite beverages. Ben has an addiction to it and has shown to be able to drink 2 - 3 of them without apparent difficulty. However, Ben reportedly disliked them when he was younger as shown in the Omniverse flashbacks.

They are often made from fruits, though they are also known to be made from more unusual materials, such as meat.

As shown in the episode Andreas' Fault, after Ben acquired fame, the smoothies had special flavors that were based on different aliens of Ben.

As shown in So Long, and Thanks for All the Smoothies, after Ben recreated the Universe, he failed to replicate the exact taste of the grape-flavored smoothie.

Trivia

• Driba and Blukic have also shown an interest for smoothies, particularly the grasshopper flavored one.
• Ben was disgusted by smoothies at 11, but grew addicted to them as time passed on.
• According to Derrick J. Wyatt, during the production of Alien Force, Cartoon Network wanted to promote healthy eating. As such, they didn't allow for Ben to eat nachos, which led to the showrunners making his favorite food smoothies. By the time of Omniverse's production, the rule was no longer enforced.
• In the Brazilian and Latin American dubs, the establishment and its smoothies are often mistakenly referred to as ice cream, juices, vitamins, milkshakes or shaved ice. This is possibly due to there not being a word in these languages that is a direct translation of "smoothie".
