Slammoid is a combination of "slam" and "Graboid", referring their slam attack and physical similarities with the Graboids from the Tremors franchise.
Trivia[]
- Slammoids are based off the Sandworm from Dune,[DJW 3] who are coincidentally nicknamed the "Grabboid", in addition to the Tremors Graboids.
- Slammoids being the Tapaedan's natural predator is based on how real-life armadillos hunt earthworms, but with the roles of predator and prey being swapped from the two species.
