Gwen asks Kevin to take her to her school's dance, forcing a clueless and panicking Kevin to seek advice from Ben. However, Ben has his own problems, as Big Chill has been taking over his body with each transformation and starts trying to eat every metal object in sight.
Despite this, Ben loans Kevin one of Max's tuxedos and gives him good advice. When Kevin gets nervous and tells him that he's not like those prep guys from Gwen's school, Ben reassures him that's why she asked him to take her instead of one of them. Ben also ties his bowtie for him, tells him Gwen likes yellow roses, and advises him to get her a nice corsage.
However, Julie later calls them when they reach the school telling them that Ben has transformed into Big Chill again and is on a rampage, forcing them to change plans and leave.
Gwen, Kevin, and Julie manage to track down and subdue Big Chill, only to discover that Big Chill was only building a nest for eggs he had laid. The eggs hatch into infant Necrofriggians, and Kevin teases Ben about being a "mother." Julie says that Ben made a great mom, and gives him a ride home on her scooter, leaving Gwen and Kevin alone.
After being disappointed by having to miss the dance, Kevin turns on the stereo in his car and him and Gwen dance to its music.

Continuity[]
- While talking about the dance, Ben mentions Kevin being in the Null Void, after he was sent there in Back With a Vengeance.
- Julie recalls Jetray from the pier, from Pier Pressure.
- Ben and Gwen recall Ben having a problem with Ghostfreak, who was taken over by Zs'Skayr and escaped the Omnitrix in Ghostfreaked Out.
Allusions[]
- The title of this episode is an allusion to the 2001 movie Save the Last Dance, starring Julia Stiles and Sean Patrick Thomas.
- The Burger Boy mascot resembles the Big Boy mascot.
- When Kevin says his badge has a lock on Ben's Omnitrix coordinates, he pinpoints his location to a mile west of Register Road and north of Wigzell Avenue. This is a reference to series producers Sam Register and Tramm Wigzell.
Errors[]
- Julie calls the Burger Boy place as "Burger Shack".
- Big Chill is seen pushing the order button at the Burger Boy multiple times. The waitress comes out soon with his order, before being scared away. However, Big Chill never spoke into the speaker, and only pushed the button.
- When Big Chill turns away from the metal Burger Boy mascot's statue before flying away, the mascot is no longer visible (even though at the angle shown, it should have been).
- When Big Chill leaves after drinking the molten metal, his Omnitrix symbol is sideways.
- When Big Chill drinks the molten metal, his teeth do not separate but the liquid gushes in rapidly.
- The sign at Gwen's school says that a summer dance is being held even though Ben mentioned earlier in the episode that it was a spring formal.
- When Gwen uses a mana shield to block Big Chill's ice breath, the horizontal split on her dress is missing.
- When Kevin absorbs the metal, the tear in the tuxedo isn't covered by the metal.
- The closed captions on the Ben 10 Alien Force: Volume 4 DVD misspell "Necrofriggian" as "Necrofrigian".
Trivia[]
- The episode's title is listed as Save The Last Dance on the Ben 10 Alien Force: Volume 4 DVD and Amazon Prime Video.
- As mentioned by Ben, this episode takes place in the spring, which places all episodes between Max Out and this episode in the spring as well, as Ken was explicitly mentioned to have been on spring break in Max Out.
- When the police shoot at Big Chill, they fire energy bolts from their guns instead of bullets, making it look like alien technology. This is because bullets were not allowed to be shown in the series.[DM 1]
