Pterodactyls are a pre-historic Earth species. They were hatched from de-evolved chickens created by Dr. Animo.
Appearance[]
The pterodactyl are a mainly moss green color. Their stomach, chest and neck are light green and their beaks are as long as their head and colored dark blue. They have white, pupil-less eyes with black outlines. They grow very rapidly, thus were seen in all sizes: young ones about the size of a cat and fully grown ones a little taller than an average human.
History[]
Ultimate Alien[]
They first appeared in The Eggman Cometh, where Animo was trying to use them to take over the world. They were created by de-evolving chicken eggs with a devolutionary ray, and were then sent to stores to be distributed to customers. They were turned back to normal when Juryrigg reversed the polarity of the devolutionary ray and then Jetray flew over Bellwood with it, evolving them back into chickens.
Powers and Abilities[]
The pterodactyl were strong, fast, and able to fly. They grew very quickly, as seen when a baby hatchling came out of a chicken egg and grew from being small enough to fit in it to being a bit taller than a human.
They could also sense heat and were attracted to it. They swarmed a steel mill, to get warmth from the hot molten metal.
At least one of them, their leader, was able to speak, and was intelligent, asking to be given a name.
Weaknesses[]
After evolving
The pterodactyls need heat to survive, and cannot stand cold temperatures. They can be taken out by freezing them. Once evolved back into chickens, they become ordinary birds and have no abilities.
Animo was concerned that an experimental balloon that could end global warming could be a threat to the pterodactyls, as that would make the planet colder, and thus a harder place for the heat loving mutated chickens to take over. He destroyed the balloon to prevent this from happening.

Trivia[]
- In real life, chickens, like all birds, actually evolved from small, birdlike dinosaurs related to predators like Velociraptor and Tyrannosaurus Rex, not pterodactyls. However, pterosaurs like pterodactyls were most closely related to reptiles compared to all other living animals.
- The pterodactyls were referred to as 'dragon men' and 'dinosaur men' by Ben's team throughout the episode, while Animo never got around to naming them, only referring to them as friends or reptiles.
