Providence is a global, clandestine military organization that was created in response to extinction-level events. Just like how the CIA and FBI each have their own mandates and jurisdictions, Providence has a mandate to clean out EVOs.

History

Background

According to Agent Six, Providence was created to contain extinction-level events before they threaten humanity, the most recurring of which being infestations of EVOs. Along the way, Providence became interesting in pursuing Rex Salazar and Bobo Haha, hoping to turn the former into an asset.

Ben 10

Providence first appears in Ben Gen 10, arriving in Washington, D.C. after Rex caused the Omnitrix to malfunction with his Nanites, causing civilians to be mutated into EVOs based on Ben Tennyson's alien forms. For a while, they assumed Ben's aliens to be EVOS themselves and the Omnitrix to be an EVO generator. However, despite netting Rex, Providence found themselves overpowered by Hex, who casted a mind-control spell to turn the alien-based EVOs into his minions. When the situation got out of hand, Providence attempted to vaporize Washington, D.C. with a missile strike to prevent a larger infestation until most of Providence's forces were overwhelmed by Hex's army.

Providence would regain control of the situation when Six teamed up with Ben, Rex, and Bobo to battle Hex. The alien EVOs would be cured when Rex removed his Nanites from the Omnitrix. However, one of Providence's airships had misfired a missile, which Rex successfully deflected with his Punk Busters. After Ben and Rex worked together to defeat Hex, Providence took the sorcerer into custody. As Providence made preparations to leave, Six decided to give Rex and Bobo a "head start". As the pair left, Six promised Rex that he will be there to stop him if he were to ever loses control of his powers again.

Equipment

Providence agents are well-equipped with weapons that aid them on their missions to take down EVOs, the most notable of which the EVO blaster. These guns are outfitted with net launchers and tranquilizer darts.

Trivia

• The Providence agents featured in the reboot are a stylized version of their counterparts from the original Generator Rex series.
• Whereas the original Providence existed in a separate universe from the Prime Timeline in the Classic Continuity, this Providence lives in the same dimension as Ben.
• Rebecca Holiday has not yet entered Providence as she is looking for a cure for her sister.
