Pet Project is the twenty-first episode of the first season of Ben 10: Alien Force, and the twenty-first episode overall.
Synopsis[]
Ben and company must rescue the shape-shifting, dog-like alien, Ship, from the Forever Knights.[CN 1]
Plot[]
This section needs expansion. You can help by adding information. |
The Forever Knights' scientist, Dr. Joseph Chadwick, sends Sir Morton to kidnap Ship from Julie so that the Forever Knights can use him to mass-produce a fleet of interstellar spacecraft. They then plan to use that fleet to attack the homeworld of the alien Dragon that escaped them. Joined by Julie, who has been taking care of Ship, Ben, Gwen and Kevin mount a raid on the Forever Knights' stronghold to rescue him. Though Chadwick is using a control device to make Ship obey him, Julie is able to convince Ship to resist. The Forever Knights' stronghold is destroyed, and the group now has access to a spaceship since Ship can transform into the vehicle the Forever Knights had hoped to mass-produce. The episode ends with Ship reuniting with Julie. Kevin suggests using him for space operations and Julie agrees if the team helps take care of and play with him. Ben asks to play catch and asks for a ball and Ship turns into a ball and jumps on him.

Continuity[]
- Dr. Chadwick recalls the events of Be-Knighted when he makes his speech in front of the Forever Knights.
Allusions[]
- Gwen says "McDuffie's is having a going out of business sale". This is a reference to Dwayne McDuffie, the story editor of Alien Force.
Errors[]
- The closed captions on the Ben 10 Alien Force: Volume 5 DVD misspell "McDuffie's" as "McDuffy's".
- Jetray and Swampfire's holograms are drawn incorrectly. Furthermore, Swampfire's hologram faces away from Ben.
- In one shot, Jetray is missing his stripes and his Omnitrix symbol is completely black.
- Kevin's car receives damage from the fight with Sir Morton, but the car doesn't look damaged until after he leaves.
- In Pier Pressure, in order for Ship to transform into a machine or vehicle, he had to enter it first. In this episode, he automatically turns into a massive spaceship.
- When Ship reverts to his normal form, Swampfire's face is green.
- When Gwen gets knocked out after fighting Ship and Kevin checks up on her, they are to Swampfire's right. When they approach him moments later, they come from in front of him.
Trivia[]
- According to Kevin, this episode takes place on a Saturday.
- Ship is able to transform into any machine wherever he is. However, when Ben transformed into Upgrade, he could only take control of machinery by covering it with his body, and could never completely transform into the object. This is due to Ben's incomplete transformation into the fully mechanical Galvanic Mechamorph.[pop-up 1][1]
