Synopsis[]
An old enemy emerges while Ben and Rook visit Kevin and Gwen at college.[CN 1]
Plot[]
One night at Friedkin University, Punchinello takes off with a piece of plutonium from the campus building. However, he is quickly stopped by Lucky Girl. She fights with him as he fires lasers from his nose, and she blocks them with her manna shield. As they fight, Friedkin students watch and cheer for her, but she uses a manna shield to break Punchinello's mechanical nose, and unmasks him. The students are shocked that he is Professor Aniceto of the Drama department. The excited students start to crowd around Lucky Girl, unwittingly pulling her away from Aniceto, who uses the opportunity to escape. However, he accidentally face slams into the Proto-TRUK and Ben and Rook exit the truck to greet her.
The next day, the duo begin touring the college with Gwen, as Ben is excited to attend the open house, but she is slightly annoyed by this, as she was settling into a new routine away from Ben: overachieving in classes; protecting the college as Lucky Girl; and now using her full name Gwendolyn. They meet up with Kevin and Zed and order sandwiches from a food truck. Behind them in line, a kid named Dante is being bullied by two students, and Gwen and Kevin step in to defend him. However, the bullies are quickly distracted by Ben and cause a mob of fans to form around him. Ben asks the group if he should go to their college, and they all cheer, much to Gwen and Kevin's disdain. Gwen and Dante start to leave to go to classes, but all of suddenly Zed growls at him.
Rook urges Ben to go, but all of the students suddenly start backing up. A Rock Monster appears and destroys the food trucks, also sending Ben and Rook flying backwards. Ben transforms into Juryrigg, and overconfidently runs into the Rock Monster, but it quickly knocks him away. Rook uses his Proto-Tool to fire an arrow at the monster, but it simply blocks it. Kevin manages to get onto the monster and absorbs its material, turning himself into stone to fight it. Juryrigg turns the damaged food truck into a machine, shooting fireballs at the Rock Monster. However, the food truck vendor's head gets stuck, and the machine cannot fire. The Rock Monster lunges at Juryrigg but it touches the Omnitrix, making a shockwave which sends the Rock Monster flying backwards. Juryrigg transforms back into Ben, who notices the Omnitrix is only displaying Ghostfreak's icon. Ben, Kevin, and Rook chase the Rock Monster into a lecture hall, but it seems to have gotten away. They notice the curtains on the stage moving and Ben assumes that Charmcaster is there. They are caught sneaking backstage by Gwen and Dante and Gwen wonders why they are back there. Dante then informs them that it's Professor Xagliv's class, but Ben doesn't think so and pulls back the curtain to reveal just Xagliv herself. Ben, Kevin, and Rook get spooked by her appearance and aggressively tells Gwen to take her seat.
Xagliv begins to teach her class, which bores Ben and Kevin. Ben and Kevin whispering jokes to themselves but Gwen quickly silences them, much to chiggrin Xagliv demands that trio leave her class. As Gwen and the others are leaving, Xagliv reveals a stone that looks very familiar to Gwen. Rook notices that Gwen recognizes the artifact and Gwen says that she thinks that it's one of the Charms of Bezel. Ben and Gwen thought that they were destroyed when they were kids, but Dante suddenly arrives, also talking about the artifact and someone can be seen spying on the group from a nearby closet. Back out in the courtyard, Ben still thinks that something is up with Xagliv and Rook says that the Rock Monster disappeared the exact moment Xagliv appeared. Kevin reminds them it's one of Charmcaster's monsters and Gwen noticed that Xagliv kicked her out just after the artifact was revealed. Suddenly, more Rock Monsters appear, but with hooded students riding them this time. Ben turns into Eye Guy and Kevin (with Zed) begin to fight the Rock Monsters. A Rock Monster attempts to attack Gwen and Dante, but Gwen puts up a shield and the Rock Monster is caught by Rook, and swings it into the air and Eye Guy destroys it. Gwen causes a minor distraction to assume her Lucky Girl persona once more, but she tosses away the hooded student and destroys the Rock Monster. After Eye Guy transforms back into Ben, the other hooded students run away while Ben, Gwen, and Rook watch them, but some of them sexcited by Ben's performance, while Gwen is just happy to have saved the students.
The group then confront Professor Xagliv in her classroom, and they all start to question him. Rook notices that "Xagliv" spelled backwards is "Vilgax" and Rook removes Xagliv's wig, revealing her bald head, she angrily takes back her wig, but Ben questions her, saying she has a Charm of Bezel. Suddenly, Dante starts laughing evilly and takes the Charm of Bezel for himself, and everyone flying backwards and Gwen starts firing manna at him, but he stopes them and knocks her out. Ben, Kevin, and Rook attempt to charge at him, but Dante simply knocks them back. He prosseds to get Gwen down into the basement and with the others start to purchinning them, but he takes her into a room, sealing off the door and preventing the others from getting inside. The other kids start a chant and Dante removes an ID Mask, revealing himself to be Darkstar, much to her disspleaseing is angry to see him again.
Darkstar reminds Gwen of how Charmcaster locked him out of Legerdomain just because of his appearance, to which Gwen replies it was really because he was creep, to which he counters by says that its enjoyable draining the manna of Legerdomain so much that he is going to use Gwen to make the manna appear through her. Meanwhile, Ben, Kevin, Rook, and Zed all continue trying to break through the door to no success. Darkstar prepares the transfer and one of the hooded students, Margie, comments on Darkstar not fully taking Gwen's power. Darkstar says that all manna comes from Legerdomain and that it must return to the original person, he then drains Margie's manna and continues opening the portal. Rook gets the group inside by blasting at the door using his Proto-Tool and he orders his group to keep Ben and the others away. The hooded students get on some Rock Monsters and Ben trries to use his Omnitrix, but its still set on Ghostfreak and reluntectly fights without aliens. He tricks a Rock Monster into knocking over a column, which falls onto it. Rook takes out a group of the Rock Monsters. Kevin smashes through many Rock Monsters and, as more surround Ben's group, their manna (along with that of the robbed students) is drained. Darkstar has just finished the transfer and regains his "perfect" body using his Michael Morningstar name again. Michael flies out onto the courtyard and boasts about his looks. Ben then reluctantly transforms into Ghostfreak and battles him, by having no manna, isn't affected by Michael's absorption powers and possesses Michael. Ghostfreak fools around with Michael's body and uses it to free Gwen from the control and stop and reverse the transfer. Michael is reverted back to his "Darkstar" body and is soon arrested. Gwen tells the police officer to keep the symbol on Darkstar's head and the officer takes him away.
In the police car, Darkstar attempts to use his magic, but the symbol stops him. The police officer is revealed to be Charmcaster herself. Darkstar believes she forgives him for stealing from her, but instead, she presses the symbol on his forehead, causing him excruciating pain as the car lights up with magic as she tortures him. Meanwhile, the portal Darkstar had created reopens and Zs'Skayr emerges from Legerdomain. Back at the university, Gwen and Kevin are relaxing and Rook is playing with Zed. Suddenly, Ben arrives with students carrying him. Ben says he has an honorary degree and doesn't need to attend college. Ben then addresses himself as "Dr. Tennyson", much to the dismay of Gwen, Kevin, and Rook.

- When Gwen unmasks Punchinello and the crowd gasps and says, "Professor Aniceto!", it is similar to most unmasking of villains at the end of most Scooby Doo episodes and movies.
- Kevin says: "Looks like we've got a mystery on our hands," which is a near-verbatim typical quote of Fred's whenever there's a mystery afoot.
- After removing Professor Xagliv's wig, Gwen comments on it being a red herring, which is also the name of a boy Fred Jones presumes is always the masked villain in A Pup Named Scooby-Doo.

- The way Ben and Rook greet Gwen at the beginning of this episode is similar how she and Kevin greeted Ben in Many Happy Returns.
- The sandwich truck, HP Lunchkraft, is named after acclaimed horror author H. P. Lovecraft. Its most famous sandwich, the Miskatonic Madness, is an allusion to Miskatonic University, a college that is a major setting in the Cthulhu horror stories started by H. P. Lovecraft.
- The first hint to Dante's true identity, is that he wears the intern shirt of Wesley Crusher from Star Trek: The Next Generation, a role previously played by Darkstar's voice actor, Wil Wheaton. In addition, his alias is an allusion to Dante Alighieri, an Italian poet whose most famous book, The Inferno is about hell, which is ruled by Lucifer, who is also called the Morning Star.
