When he appears in the movie, one can see that he is a Le Roy's Restaurant frequent customer, where he is seen reading the newspaper in which Wildmutt appeared. Ben requests him to show him the newspaper but the Hubbard ignores him and just makes a joke. When the restaurant was attacked by the machines that Grey Matter had changed, he seemed to remain unaware of what was going on, remaining motionless, not being caught in the crossfire and not even seemed to notice Grey Matter who was running away in front of him. He just ordered for more coffee as usual.
Later in the movie, Hubbard rescues Ben from Eon, shooting the time traveler on the shoulder. After Eon leaves, Hubbard calls him an Ugly June Bug. Ben shockingly asks him if he's a Plumber, Hubbard replies that of course he is, asking Ben if he knows a disguise if he saw one. Ben asks if what Hubbard was wearing was a disguise. He says no, catching Ben with a joke. He then tells Ben to hustle himself back home before Eon returns, and that he'll clean up the mess. Before Ben leaves, Hubbard exclaims that he had the most fun he had in years.
