The Mayan Temple of Ek Chuaj was a temple located in Mexico near the border with Texas, and housed the legendary Sword of Ek Chuaj.
Appearance[]
Exterior[]
The temple, from the outside, closely resembled other real-world structures created by the Maya civilization. As such, it appears to have been made out of limestone and formed a pyramid shape. The top of the temple was partially caved in. It had an entrance consisting of two massive doors, but they were strong enough to resist a bomb exploding on them. A secret entrance existed, activated by a brick being pushed in.
Interior[]
The interior of the temple had far more vines growing on its walls. One of the pathways was broken off, though a series of wooden platforms existed as a means of descending underground. A proper staircase followed after, leading to the Eternal Pit of Despair, an alleged bottomless pit.
Eternal Pit of Despair[]
This pit was engraved with brick and column patterns. Shortly past it was the entrance of Ah Puch's chamber.
Ah Puch's Chamber[]
A platform for the Mask of Ah Puch sat before a chiseled door, appropriately featuring the likeness of Ah Puch. Beyond the doors was a golden-brown room with yet another pyramid, displaying the Sword of Ek Chuaj. In both this chamber and the preceding room were two rows of pillars holding up the structure.
History[]
Ben 10[]
After recapturing the Mask of Ah Puch from Sir Enoch, Ben used it to show Max the map to the temple and Max said that they need to beat Sir Enoch and the Forever Knights to it. After arriving, Max and the kids tried to find a secret passage to get inside, and Ben used the mask to find it. After telling Sir Enoch that the sword was five thousand years old, Max and the kids escaped the sinking temple.
