The Map of Infinity is an alien artifact created by Professor Paradox that Aggregor wanted to steal.
Appearance[]
The artifact has the appearance of an infinity symbol that is split into four parts.
Functions[]
The Map of Infinity is a complete map of space-time, extending through 17 dimensions. Whoever has the map could travel anywhere in the universe, even to the Forge of Creation.[1][2][guide 1]
The Map of Infinity's pieces alone already have functions, such as the piece that was the Alpha Rune, which was used by Aggregor to teleport him out of the Legerdomain.[3][DM 2]
History[]
Background[]
Knowing how dangerous the Map of Infinity could be if it fell into the wrong hands, Professor Paradox divided his creation into four pieces and stored them and disguised them in safe places throughout the universe. The parts were hidden in Mikd'lty, Piscciss, Legerdomain, and Perplexahedron.
Ultimate Alien[]
In the episode Map of Infinity, Azmuth told Ben, Gwen and Kevin to get the first part of the map before Aggregor. The team then went to search the first part of the map, located on the planet Mikd'lty, a tidally locked planet that is half ice and half fire due to its close proximity to its sun. It was disguised as part of the Kelvin Temple[DM 3] and guarded by Necrofriggian colonists, who engaged the team in battle. Gwen made some of the Necrofriggians fall asleep, while Ultimate Echo Echo knocked them out with sonic discs. The inside of the temple was full of pitfalls and traps such as giant hammers, pools of acid, a creature with two heads that can breathe fire and ice, and a room full of poison darts.
After the team defeated all the traps, they found a gate where the first part of the map was hidden. Four Arms and Kevin raised the door while Gwen entered the room. However, they discovered that Gwen was hit by a poison dart, and she collapsed under the door, Ultimate Aggregor arrived and took advantage of the situation to claim the first part of the map, leaving Gwen beneath the gate. Ultimate Aggregor's leaving made Four Arms furious, and he used his full strength to hold the door so Kevin could rescue Gwen. Cannonbolt then broke out of the temple, but the Ultimatrix timed out on the ship's ramp, and Ben passed out, so Kevin carried Ben and Gwen into the ship. Ben stated that they would prevent Ultimate Aggregor from getting the rest of the map.
In Deep, the second piece of Map of Infinity was disguised as the Centripetal Accelerator used to hold Piscciss, a planet composed almost completely out of water, together. After Ultimate Aggregor stole the Accelerator and escaped, Ben transformed into Goop and used his Anti-Gravity Projector as a replacement for the Accelerator to repair Piscciss to a metastable condition.
In Where the Magic Happens, the third piece of the Map of Infinity was disguised as a powerful magical artifact known as the Alpha Rune, which was located in Legerdomain. When Ultimate Aggregor escaped with the Alpha Rune, he sealed the only natural entrance into Legerdomain.
In Perplexahedron, the fourth and final piece was disguised as the Sentinel's crown, which was also the force holding Perplexahedron together. The artificial planetoid was designed to attack anyone that enters.
In The Forge of Creation, the map was assembled by Ultimate Aggregor, who used it to enter the Forge of Creation. However, it was absorbed by Ultimate Kevin when he stole his powers. It is unknown what happened to the Map of Infinity after Kevin changed back in Absolute Power: Part 2.
Trivia[]
- When the pieces were taken from their hiding places, Piscciss, Legerdomain, and the Perplexahedron were all damaged. Mikd'lty was the only planet not affected at all.
- The Alpha Rune is the only Map of Infinity piece that is seen again, as it somehow returned to Legerdomain before Enemy of My Frenemy where Charmcaster came into possession of it.
- Azmuth calls it one of the most important objects in the universe.[guide 1]
- Vilgax does not believe in the Map of Infinity.[DM 4]
- Paradox's method of disguising the pieces of the Map of Infinity as other objects mirrors the method used with the pieces of the Key to Time in the classic Doctor Who series.
