Magic is the power to affect matter and energy by supernatural means. Magic could often be split into dark and light, though depending on the situation, may also be neutral.
Background
Some species, like humans and Geochelone Aerios, can be taught to use magic. Magic is derived from a supernatural substance called mana (also referred to as "life energy").
Anodites, can control and manipulate mana, and by extension magic, in all its forms. In terms of raw power, they're stronger than even a master magician; for example, Gwen can use the more powerful spells in the Archamada Book of Spells, whereas Hex, a master magician, cannot do so without all the Charms of Bezel.
Magic is the manipulation of energy, and technology is just another way to control the process.[1]
Items
There are many magical artifacts that can empower a sorcerer or sorceress, such as Charmcaster's small waist bag in which she can put anything she wants, or the Staff of Ages, which only a master magician can wield.
Other known tools are the Charms of Bezel, which consist of five charms (Probability, Pyrokinesis, Telekinesis, Reincarnation, and Electrokinesis), and the Alpha Rune, the most powerful magical item in existence.
Spells and Incantations

Many magic spells have been used throughout the series. Most spells consist of a ritual action, a set of words, a verse, a gesture or any combination of these. Although majority of the spells are spoken out loud in order to be cast, while some spells can be used non-verbally and still take effect. There are many different types of spells, but most are either offensive or defensive in nature.
