During a live feed of a transcontinental bullet train, LaGrange enters the picture to outrace the train, but Ben joins in on the fun and will stop at nothing to come out on top.
Plot[]
The episode begins with Ben beating Gwen's high score in a video game. Gwen looks at the news, and they are talking about a new train - The Pacific Pegasus - a really fast train that will be traveling up the coast from Santa Monica to San Francisco. Gwen is impressed, and questions how fast do they think the train is going. Ben cockily says that he can beat the train in a race as XLR8. Max states the road they're taking should follow the train. On the news, they state that the train will take the world record for fastest vehicle. Ben is excited about the world record, and he thinks that XLR8 can take the record. Gwen states that XLR8 isn't a vehicle, but Ben says that XLR8 has "wheels". They announce that the current holder of the record is held by LaGrange.
Elsewhere, LaGrange speeds through in his car and he drives past the Rustbucket. The Rustbucket is pulled over by it, and Max tells the other two that he thinks that was LaGrange. Gwen points out that he probably doesn't want the train to take his record. Max then states that they have to stop him, and Ben states that they have to race him. Max tells him that it's not happening. Ben agrees, and states that the Rustbucket is way too slow, and XLR8 will fair way better. Max states that he'll ignore the comment about the Rustbucket, and then says their priority should be making sure LaGrange doesn't hurt anyone. Ben agrees, and states that the world record is a bonus. Ben transforms into XLR8 and runs after LaGrange. LaGrange attempts to out drive the train, but is surprised that the train is faster than him. XLR8 catches up, and LaGrange is annoyed. LaGrange activates a laser canon, and XLR8 immediately takes it out. He then launches missiles, and they latch onto the train. XLR8 questions if he's really willing to hurt innocent people just to keep his title. LaGrange then responds stating that he'll do whatever it takes to be number one. LaGrange claims that XLR8 can't stop him and save the people. XLR8 states e could, and he runs onto the train and takes off the missiles. Meanwhile, Max and Gwen uses the backroads to catch up. XLR8 begins getting tired, and LaGrange manages to shake him off. He flies into the Rustbucket as he times out.
Ben then gets another idea, and he transforms into Omni-Enhanced Heatblast. Gwen states that he isn't even a vehicle now, and asks where's his wheels. Heatblast states that they're sitting on them. He then flies outside the Rustbucket, and pushes it. Meanwhile, LaGrange tries damage the train in order to out-drive it. He then spots in his rearview mirror that the Rustbucket is managing to keep up with him. Heatblast moves even faster using his rocket pack. LaGrange then uses his "final card". He then presses a button that speeds his car up. As the Rustbucket continues to speed up, Gwen states that the RV can't take any more speed. Heatblast then yells out that "winning is the only thing that matters". He then remembers LaGrange saying the exact same thing. He then stops, noticing that he's starting to sound like LaGrange. He then checks on the two, and LaGrange speeds right past him. His car then breaks down, and he attempts to start it again, whoever, it doesn't start. Heatblast runs to go help LaGrange, yells at him stating he doesn't need help, and he can still win the race. Heatblast then breaks through the door, and takes LaGrange out. The train then runs over LaGrange's car effortlessly.
On the news, the news guy states that no one was hurt. He then reveals that LaGrange is arrested, and is no longer the world's fastest driver. They then state that a strange blue hero saved everyone, and they show a sketch of Road Runner. She then offers for the hero to claim their reward, but Ben turns off the TV right before she gives the contact information. Max and Gwen are surprised that Ben didn't jump at the chance to get an award. Ben then states that he has something better than a world record. Max questions if it's family, but Ben denies it stating that it's his high score in "Sumo Slammers". Gwen then hands him the tablet, showing him that she beat his high score.
Heatblast: Come on, La garbage! LaGrange: You dare to disrespect the great LaGrange -- racing against me with that hunk of garbage? Max: Garbage? I already let one slide today. Don't insult the Rustbucket.
