The Fogg is a sentient fog monster who first appeared in Fear The Fogg.
Appearance[]
The Fogg is an amorphous creature entirely consisting of a dark gray fog. It has two glowing yellow eyes, and usually has a gaping mouth.
History[]
Ben 10[]
The Fogg first appeared in Fear The Fogg, where it attacked Team Tennyson in the Rustbucket on their way to the Four Corners Monument. The Fogg attacked all the cars that drove down the road, causing great damage and forcing people to flee the area. Ben eventually used Overflow to dissipate the cloak of fog in the area, which by extension dissipated the Fogg.
In Moor Fogg, Team Tennyson encountered the Fogg in Scotland. With Overflow no longer available, Ben tried to use Humungousaur to defeat the Fogg. Though his sound waves harmed the Fogg, he timed out before he could defeat it. Ben escaped in the Omni-Copter, which the Fogg pursued. After a bout with Diamondhead, the Fogg was powered up by a strike of lightning, allowing it to pull the Omni-Copter towards it. However, Diamondhead was able to conduct lighting, triggering electrolysis and splitting the Fogg's atoms, destroying it.
In Fear in the Family, Team Tennyson suddenly found themselves in the middle of a thunderstorm on their way to Egypt. While navigating the storm, Ben found the Fogg, having taken a humanoid form. It then tried to take over the steering of the Omni-Copter, causing the vehicle to fly around wildly. Max opened the hatch to the Omni-Copter, ejecting the Fogg. Ben and Gwen checked the Rustbucket, and found the Fogg interfering with the radio. Ben ignored it, and tried punching it out as Four Arms, only for the Rustbucket to escape the grasp of the Omni-Copter. Before they fell in the ocean, Max saved them, and the Fogg established power, allowing them to speak to Max. Gwen realized the Fogg was trying to get back to itself, hence why the storm was chasing them. Four Arms freed the Fogg, reuniting it. The Fogg then cleared up over Egypt.
Powers and Abilities[]
Due to its physiology as sentient fog, the Fogg wields dangerous abilities. Its body is opaque, forcing opponents or victims to slow down while inside it. It is also able to shapeshift, often creating tendrils of fog for grasping opponents. It also has the ability to unleash powerful gusts of wind from its mouth.
The Fogg is able to change its density. Normally, attacks will just fly right through it and deal no damage, but it can increase its density to become tangible and grab opponents (even as heavy as the Rustbucket), punch with enough force to shatter asphalt using tendrils made of fog, or even control people like puppets by enveloping them in fog.
The Fogg is able to absorb electrical energy, and afterwards, seems to be able to control electronics, as after a piece of it absorbed Shock Rock's attacks, it was able to use the radio to send a message about its plans to return.
Weaknesses[]
The Fogg seems to have some form of light sensitivity, as it flinched when exposed to the Rustbucket's high beams.
The Fogg is weak to water-based attacks because, as Gwen explains, these attacks will oversaturate the Fogg's constituent water droplets and make them too heavy to exist as fog.[1]
The Fogg also has a weakness to heat such as the Sun, as it will then evaporate.
The Fogg is weak to sonic or vibrational attacks such as that made from a Vaxasaurian.
Ironically, too much electricity is bad for the Fogg, as if it absorbs too much power, electrolysis will cause its constituent molecules to split into individual atoms.[2]
