Falls, Falls, Falls is the one hundred and fortieth episode of Ben 10.

Synopsis

Team Tennyson looks to take in the sights of the Shoshone Falls, but when they arrive to find Steam Smythe siphoning off the water, it is up to Ben, Grandpa Max and Gwen to shut down the hydropower plant and save the falls.

Plot

Max trying to get Ben to put away his phone

While Max and Gwen are admiring the Shoshone Falls, Ben plays a game called "Sumo Slammers Hyper Revolution" on his phone. Max tries to get him to put his phone away, but Ben is resistant. He and Gwen convince Ben to take a picture of them, when suddenly, Steam Smythe and an army of Mechanoids appear. Ben prepares to foil his undisclosed plans, but is distracted by a text from Kevin showing that he got the top score on the game. Ben decides to try and beat his score instead of dealing with Steam Smythe, much to the dismay of everyone else.

Ben's phone then needs an update, so he decides to put it away while it does that. After some deliberation, he transforms into Heatblast. He immediately attacks Steam Smythe, who retreats. Max and Gwen find some cover while he ascends into the sky, and soon forces Steam Smythe back to the ground. The Mechanoids assault Heatblast, who takes them out. Steam Smythe reveals his plan to siphon water from the Shoshone Falls using hydro-machines, but Heatblast ignores him, instead looking at his phone. Annoyed, Steam Smythe sends his Mechanoids after tourists, forcing Heatblast to take action. After taking out a few, Heatblast reverts back to Ben, but his phone finishes updating.

Omni-Kix Rath debuts

Just as Steam Smythe is about to attack Ben with his Mechanoids, Gwen saves her cousin by distracting Steam Smythe, calling his behavior ungentlemanly. Steam Smythe concedes, and calls off his henchmen. After some prodding from Gwen, Ben tells her Steam Smythe mentioned hydro-machines. She suggests keeping Steam Smythe busy while she and Max deal with the machines. Steam Smythe then gets Ben's attention, expalinign that they'll be doing a barrel drop over the falls. Despite Ben's annoyance with the challenge, he transforms into Omni-Kix Rath and follows Steam Smythe. Steam Smythe reveals it was a trap, and sends more Mechanoids after Omni-Kix Rath. He easily takes down the robots, and gets a call from Gwen. She and Max found the hydro-machines, but are fending off Aristocrow. Steam Smythe confiscates the phone, and Omni-Kix Rath tries to take it back, but fails. Steam Smythe begins messing with the phone, reprimanding Kevin's language. Omni-Kix Rath manages to reclaim his phone, while Steam Smythe is sent falling down a cliff.

Omni-Kix Rath's message

Omni-Kix Rath sends an illegible reply to Kevin and times out, as Steam Smythe climbs back up the cliff. He begins to threaten Ben, as Gwen calls him, showing that Aristocrow has defected to their side. They soon find themselves in an argument about Ben being distracted by his phone. Ben tries to prove it isn't the case, only to find Steam Smythe missing. He sees him floating down a river in a barrel. Ben gets in a barrel of his own, before going back to playing his game. Max and Gwen find him and urge him to get out of the barrel, since they're about to go over the falls. Steam Smythe attempts to paddle out of the situation, and Aristocrow tries to save him, but fails. As he falls down, Ben transforms into Jetray and catches the villain. Steam Smythe demands to be put down, and Jetray complies, dropping him on his rear. Aristocrow and Steam Smythe make up, but are soon arrested by the police for illegally barrel jumping. Ben tells Gwen that he learned that beating Kevin isn't everything, and they re-take the photo. Ben is then taunted by a message from Kevin, prompting him to play his game again. Just as Ben's about to get the high score, his phone dies, frustrating him.

Allusions

• One of the names on the leaderboard, vi531, is a nod to storyboard artist Sarah Visel.
• During the message he sends to Ben, Kevin flosses, and in context of this being when Kevin beats Ben in getting the high score, it could be a reference to Fortnite Battle Royale, a video game published by Epic Games, where flossing is an emote used by players, usually to mock those they manage to defeat.
