Exo-Skull is a cybernetically enhanced human/rhino hybrid from an alternate timeline.[note 1][note 2]

Exo-Skull is a humanoid grey rhinoceros with glowing orange eyes, dark grey fingers and toes, and red and black nearly impenetrable armor.
History[]
Background[]
Exo-Skull used to be a human criminal, but he was turned into a human/rhino hybrid and became a member of Dr. Animo's "Interspecies Gang", a group of criminal/animal hybrids.[pop-up 3][1]
Ben 10[]
Exo-Skull first appeared in Ben 10,000, where he mistook Ben as XLR8 for his future self and attacked him, but was soon after easily defeated by the older Ben as XLR8.
Powers and Abilities[]
Exo-Skull is durable enough to withstand being blasted by Gwendolyn using the Kemo Char spell.
Exo-Skull can shoot energy blasts and nets out of his horn.[1]

Exo-Skull's name is based on the word exoskeleton, replacing skeleton with skull.

- This is due to:
- The executives' push for having everything more like the Original Series, which was the most successful of the franchise.[DJW 5]
- The crew's preference of the original Ben 10,000 over the Ultimate Alien portrayal.[DJW 6]
- Derrick J. Wyatt made several further statements to corroborate this, expanding on what was known from the Original Series, such as the backstories for the Biomnitrix and Kevin Levin invoking the plotlines of Ben 10,000[DJW 7] and Ken 10[DJW 8] respectively, and the defining tragedy in Ben 10,000's life having now occurred at the age of 20,[DJW 9] "shifted" from the original age of 15.[pop-up 1][1]
- The writing of the show also indicated this, with Ben identifying the future Dr. Animo from Animo Crackers to be the same person as who he encountered in Ben 10,000,[2] and other efforts made throughout the last few seasons to align the story with the original future timeline, in terms of character designs, set designs and plot lines.
- This is due to:
- ↑ Ben 10,000 is stated to be Ben Prime's true future self.[DJW 4]
- This is evidenced in-show in Omniverse by the fact that both the Ben 10,000[3][4] and the future Dr. Animo[2] recalled characters and events from the present day. Chrono-Spanner also frequently visits present day with effects of his actions manifest in his present.[5] This would not be possible if these characters belonged to an alternate timeline.
- It was pointed out by fans that this created a plot hole with the Original Series, as Ben 10,000 was from an alternate timeline[6][7][pop-up 2][8] in which he never travelled to the future when he was 10, and consequently did not give Max a cake on his 60th birthday, while Ben Prime did.[1] Thus, Ben 10,000 did not recall the events of the episode from his younger self's perspective.[7][DM 1][DM 2][DM 3]
- Derrick responded to the matter by saying: "Your 'plot holes' are irrelevant. Time isn't completely fixed, it's shifting. Events can be subtly altered. But Ben 10,000 is the future for the Ben Prime timeline."[DJW 4] Therefore, it is an unintentional retcon by the Omniverse crew.
