Dr. Joseph Chadwick is the current and sole remaining Forever King and the former Director of Technology of the Forever Knights.
Appearance[]
Dr. Chadwick is a slender man who has black hair, a red scar on his right blue eye.
In Alien Force, Dr. Chadwick wore a white labcoat, grey trousers, and black shoes.
In Omniverse, Dr. Chadwick wears a crown over his head, a golden Forever King armor with a red and white cape, a Forever Knight symbol on his chest and had grown a goatee.
After drinking the Dr. Jekyll formula, Dr. Chadwick has been transformed into a muscular gorilla-like creature with grey fur. He has golden spikes on each shoulder, five huge fingers and toes, a tattered robe on his chest and around his waist. He still has his golden Forever King armor on his arms and legs, but his fingers, biceps and thighs are exposed.
Personality[]
Dr. Chadwick has a sinister and psychotic personality, and he is completely loyal to the Forever Knights' cause. He has no qualms hurting aliens like Ship[2] or lying to his allies[1] to achieve his goals. Though he normally appears calm and collected, he has moments where this mask slips, such as when he repeatedly yelled at Ship to fire on Ben and his team.[2]
Dr. Chadwick seems to have a sardonic sense of humor; as he taunted Ben and Kai by referring to the latter as the former's girlfriend and quipping, "Ah, young love" when they embraced after Ben saved Kai, much to their chagrin.[3]
Dr. Chadwick slots himself into positions of leadership rather well. Even before becoming the sole Forever King, he rallied a group of Forever Knights to wipe out the Dragon's species. After attaining the title of Forever King, Dr. Chadwick's delusions of grandeur become more extensive, and his fanatical ambitions have reached new heights.[3] However, following his transformation from the Mr. Hyde Formula, Dr. Chadwick became extremely power-mad and somewhat insane, losing the loyalty of Sir Morton and the Twin Knights. He became far less rational, choosing to stay inside a flooding chamber and having tried to prevent everyone from leaving.[3]
History[]
Alien Force[]
In Pet Project, Dr. Chadwick was assigned to oversee the mass production of an Antarian Obliterator spacecraft that would enable the Forever Knights to travel to the alien dragon's planet after Ben helped it escape. But because the technology was too complex for human operation, Dr. Chadwick sent Sir Morton to capture Ship to help perfect it.
During the confrontation at Lancelot Lake Estates, Dr. Chadwick used a control device on Ship. That plan proved to be a failure later during the episode when Julie helped Ship gain control of himself again. When Swampfire threw a fireball at a gas tank, it exploded and caused a collapse. While Sir Morton and the other knights escaped, Dr. Chadwick was caught in the cave-in.
Omniverse[]
Dr. Chadwick reappeared as the new Forever King in Return to Forever, having survived the cave-in, where he tried to wipe out all alien life with a Highbreed Pulse Generator, but was stopped by Ben and knocked out by Jimmy Jones.
In An American Benwolf in London, Dr. Chadwick transformed into a gorilla-like monster after drinking Dr. Jekyll's formula so he could pull Excalibur from the stone. He proved to be unsuccessful despite his increased strength and was last seen escaping from the Thames River with the damaged Red Knight. Seeing that he could not claim Excalibur for himself, he left it behind in its underwater vault.
In Animo Crackers, Animo mentioned that Dr. Chadwick approached him about "ruling the world for him".
Powers and Abilities[]
Human Form[]
Dr. Chadwick is excellent at engineering. For example, he built an Antarian Obliterator outfitted with various pieces of alien technology[2] and a device which could scan alien DNA and revert Ben from alien to human form.[1]
Hybrid Form[]
Chadwick possesses incredible strength, being able to hold his own against Humungousaur.[3]
Chadwick is capable of jumping extremely high despite his size and weight.[3]
Chadwick has enhanced reflexes and agility, allowing him to evade attacks quickly.[3]
Chadwick is a fairly proficient fighter. He doesn't employ a specific martial art in combat, but rather a loose street fighting style, focusing heavily on offense.[3]
Equipment[]
Chadwick wears Forever King armor, most of which was able to grow to fit his hybrid form.[3]
Chadwick had a gold staff, which he abandoned after becoming a hybrid.[3]

Trivia[]
- Ironically, Dr. Chadwick is now a human/alien hybrid, despite the Forever Knights' fanatical anti-alien stance. However, he will revert to his original human form eventually.[DJW 1]
- His hybrid form being gorilla-like could be inspired by Mr. Hyde's demeanor being described as apelike multiple times in the original novella.
- Dr. Chadwick was voiced by David Kaye in An American Benwolf in London because Tim Curry was ill.[DJW 2]
- Dr. Chadwick's sinister and psychotic tendencies towards Ship and experimenting on aliens for combat use are similar to the real-life Dr. Josef Mengele, a WWII criminal also known as the "Angel of Death", while his status as weapons technician for a paramilitary group was inspired by Wernher von Braun, creator of the deadly V-2 combat rocket technology during WWII.
