Degredus was conceived as the Lord of the Null Void in the script outline of Voided,[outline 1] but was replaced by Dr. Animo in the final version of the episode.
Personality[]
Degredus is described as a cruel and megalomaniacal villain. He holds a grudge against Max Tennyson for being his greatest adversary.
History[]
Alien Force[]
In Voided, the Null Void was created to contain Degredus. After many centuries, Degredus managed to control the Null Guardians and forced the inhabitants of the Null Void to extract Kormite for his machine, planning to use it to destroy the Null Void and escape. Ben would investigate a S.O.S. message sent by the Plumbers' Helpers, he would meet up with them and encounter Degredus. Ben, as Brainstorm, would barely save the Helpers and escape. Ben, the Plumbers' Helpers and now Max Tennyson would ambush Degredus at his citadel, to no avail. Ben would get the idea to destroy the furnace powering Degredus as Big Chill, weakening him and leading to them defeating him.
Powers and Abilities[]
Degredus' power is tied to the Kormite furnace; the closer he is to it, the stronger he becomes. When at the citadel where it is located, Degredus is able to overwhelm Ben, Max, and the Plumbers' Helpers.[outline 2]
Degredus is also said to be invulnerable.[outline 3]
Weaknesses[]
Due to his power being tied to the furnace, if it is destroyed he becomes far weaker.[outline 4]
