DNA Pods[1][2] are containers which hold the DNA present in the Omnitrix.

Purpose[]

The DNA Pods are responsible for holding all the DNA samples inside of the Omnitrix, ten of which can be accessed at a time, unless the setting is turned off.[DR 1] A separate chamber holds all of the DNA pods that are inactive.[3] However, these pods can activated temporarily.[4]

Trivia[]

  • Only 10 DNA Pods are available in the Omnitrix's loading chamber.[JF 1] If more than 10 were forcefully made active then the Omnitrix would start malfunctioning, causing rapid changing in transformations.[5] As of Ben 10,010, that has been changed.[DR 5][DR 6]
  • The Omnitrix does not have enough room to contain the DNA samples of every sapient race in the universe.[DR 7]
  • The Omnitrix does not have the DNA from Bashmouth's Species[DR 8] or the DNA of Silent Tentacle Sentinels.[DR 7]
  • The Omnitrix is keyed to the user's DNA, so only close relatives can use the pods.[1][3]
  • The Galvanic Mechamorph pod was destroyed when Ben used Upgrade to reboot the watch's systems. A massive feedback loop ravaged the in-system matrix, destroying the Mechamorph DNA pod.[2]
  • The Chimera Sui Generis pod was destroyed when Vil "absorbed" Gax.[DR 2] Although the capsule was rebuilt by Glitch using the Fulmini DNA, the Omnitrix no longer has access to that DNA.[DR 3]

DNA pods concept art

  • Blank pods within the Omnitrix are able to read DNA, and create new pods.Ben was able to use parts of a destroyed Fulmini soldier to create a new DNA pod.[2]
    • This makes Fulminis the only known species that contains more than one DNA pod.
  • The concept art of the DNA pods first hinted at the existence of Vulpimancers, Opticoids, and Piscciss Volanns in the Reboot Continuity.
  • In Ben Gen 10, the Galvan and Florauna DNA pods can be seen in the loading chamber when Rex Salazar removes his nanites from Omnitrix. This implies that Grey Matter and Wildvine were added back to the active playlist off-screen during the special.
  • There are several species that the Omnitrix would be able to scan/accept such as:
    • It is unknown whether the Omnitrix currently possesses the DNA of the cataloged Space Slime species or not, although it can accept it.[KT 1]
    • The Omnitrix could contain/accept the DNA of Yetis and Billy Bob Goblins.[KT 1]
    • The Omnitrix could scan Xingo's DNA. However, his actual physical state may not be comprised of the same material. GATTACA may not be what constitutes life in his dimension.[DR 9]
