Throughout the years, crew members of the Ben 10 franchise have drawn unpaid art not intended to be used in the show in their own spare time or after the show has finished production. This ranges from simple edits, redesigns, and even their own original aliens. - Much of the artwork made by Derrick J. Wyatt was the result of collaborating with his friend Josh Perez on livestreams, where they would make recolored aliens as if they were used by different characters. They have also made some original aliens such as Alien Z, Decimus Prime, Trunk Man, The Darkness and Archfiendzarro.
- There were plans for an unofficial Tamaranean transformation exclusive to Gwen 10. However, the file was unable to work.[DJW 2]
- As a third-party commission, Derrick has also designed Omniverse versions of Spitter, Portaler, Antigravitesla, Chamalien, and Bob the Blob.
- Some of the artwork references other productions involving Derrick, most notably Transformers: Animated.
- When designing versions of Shellhead, Sandbox and Snakepit, Thomas N. Perkins IV did not know if the writers came up with any idea what these future aliens would do, as all they had at the time were their names.[TNP 1]
- In September 2020, a GoFundMe was made to get Derrick to design a series of Omniverse models, most of which were recolors.[DJW 3] The fundraiser succeeded in its goal of $5000.[DJW 4]
- The goals of this fundraiser included 11-year-old versions of Ghostfreak and Frankenstrike, 16 and 15-year-old versions of Jetray, original aliens Squirtapiller and Snark Tanque, unproduced aliens Decagon Vreedle and Ventrilosquid, alternate versions of Frankenstrike belonging to Albedo, Mad Ben, and Nega Ben (the latter being named The Electric Corpse), and Fasttrack.
- There were plans for an Omniverse model of Rex Salazar. However, due to his passing in December 2021, he was unable to complete it.
