So recently there has been a lot of debate about sub-pages and their linking. One thing is for sure, there is a huge mess. Some pages are to be merged into one page (like reboot and classic versions) and while some aren't (like alternate timelines). Linking is a big mess in itself. Some believe that links should be to the main page only (like linking to [[Ben Tennyson]] for both Reboot and Classic). More than characters, we have had this issue for the Omnitrix and Ultimatrix, where some users believe that OS/AF and OV omnitrixes, and UA and OV omnitrixes are different objects and must be treated differently (link to individual pages, not the group up). Then there are even weirder examples of Eon, Krakken, Evil Way Big, Collector etc. The rule that characters having same name must be brought under tabs is followed at some places (like the aforementioned examples) and not at other places (eg. Eye Guy and Feedback and their respective Dimension 23 versions, Ben 10 Classic and Reboot etc.)
Overall, the rules are pretty muddled up and vague. And the original thought behind the tab system has diluted to a point it is no longer logical. Also, readers also kinda get annoyed when they are on a classic article, click on a link, and it shows the Reboot article by default. It is an extra step for readers to get to the classic article. The simple solution is to start linking to sub-pages only. But that would very honestly make main pages (group-up pages) pointless. If no pages link there. Hence I present my solution. Separate Group-Up pages for Reboot/Classic and Same-Name-Articles and introduce ground rules to be added to MoS Basically, abolish the tabbed system wherever not necessary. Pages excluded from this:
