As you said, Ben 10 is 10 years old. That means the bulk of CN viewers (10-13 year-olds) weren't there to see the original series. Why make an anniversary special for a 10 year-old series?

Yes, the reboot is for money. That's because CN is a business like any other. Any other channel would do the same. If the choice is between making money and losing money, all else being equal, making money wins because it's the better outcome.
What exactly is wrong with the reboot, anyhow? First of all, it's not for us, the old fans; it's for the new CN viewers, and I'll bet you anything they'll like it. Second of all, we have zero - I repeat, zero - information about the reboot, other than its status as a reboot. No episodes have aired, no plot drafts have been presented, no promos, nothing. Yet everyone is already judging it to be the worst Ben 10 series to date, like they did with Alien Force, Ultimate Alien, and Omniverse before.
