During a tour of the Japanese Robotics Museum, Ben finds hero-gone-wrong Tim Buktu trying to save Tokyo from a dragon.
Plot[]
In Kamakura, Japan, citizens run in fear as a serpentine dragon chases them down. It stops in its tracks, as it is met by Ben as Four Arms. He challenges it to a fight, only for his usual punching tactics to not work. Max and Gwen watch him lose from afar, before Tim Buktu shows up in a mech. He defeats the dragon in a faux manner, forcing it to retreat. Tim exits the mech, and proclaims himself a changed man. Max and Gwen believe Tim, but Ben does not, as Tim flies away in his mech. Gwen admits to Ben that the fight seemed faked, but it didn't really matter, because the dragon was defeated. Ben leaves to investigate further, and Gwen goes to have sushi with Max.
In the restaurant, Gwen researches the dragons on her tablet, and finds information on the Sapphire Dragon of Kamakura, explaining that it is typically revered for its power and ability to bring good fortune, but if it were to be disturbed while it slumbered, it would go on a rampage until calmed by tranquil music. Meanwhile, Ben follows Tim's mech, which hides in a cave. Ben transforms into Rath and pursues him. Despite his clumsiness, he finds Tim undetected, and watches him rehearsing a planned attack, controlling the dragon with a remote. Rath accidentally announces his presence, and Tim attacks him with his mech, as he reverts back to Ben.
Ben runs into the town with Tim close behind. Ben tries to convince the citizens that Tim's causing the dragon's attacks, but he turns them against Ben. Ben points out the flaws in his claims, and they once again side with Ben. In a fit of anger, Tim fires his mech's rockets at Ben, who transforms into Heatblast and destroys them. He melts the rocket launchers, but Tim summons the Sapphire Dragon to assist him. Heatblast runs by the restaurant, prompting Gwen to take action while Max uses the washroom. Heatblast is attacked by both Tim and the dragon, but the dragon accidentally spews fire at Tim's mech, forcing the villain to eject. The citizens boo Tim as he descends with a parachute, much to his dismay.
Gwen notices that the Sapphire Dragon is distracted by heat. Heatblast is knocked onto a building, where he is met by Tim. Tim activates the autopilot on his mech, as he flies away. Gwen points out her observation to Heatblast, and she notices a chip on the dragon controlling it. Heatblast chars the chip, and the Sapphire Dragon blasts the mech with its fire breath. Heatblast tries to lure the dragon back to the cave, while Gwen tries to find music that can calm it down. They manage to do so, and the dragon falls back to sleep. Max meets back up with them in the town, full from the sushi. Ben admits to Max that he feels bad about trying to prove himself a better hero than Tim, but Max affirms that the difference between the two is that Ben didn't cause the problem. Gwen returns, and gifts Ben a toy mecha. The three leave the trail to get some food.
Tim: You see, Ben, I decided to turn over a new leaf and start helping people, just like you. Crowd: (cheers; a woman hands Tim a bouquet of flowers) Tim: They love me now. And I love keeping them safe from that dragon that comes to terrorize them all the time. I found my true calling, being praised for being a hero!

Ben: Maybe you saw me, but I saw you, too, Tim Buktu. You're no hero, you're a fraud. Tim: (laughs) And what're you gonna do? Tell everyone in Japan that I've been controlling the dragon the whole time? Ben: Well, duh. Tim: Sure, sounds just like what a hero might do. If he was alive to do it!

Ben: He's been getting the dragon to attack your town all along! He's pretending to protect you from it to make himself look like a hero! Tim: Lies! He's the one who's been waking the dragon! Crowd: (gasps) Tim: That's right! He's been, uh, hiding in the caverns like a sly little goblin. Which...is why...you've never seen him around here before! Yeah! That's why! Ben: That doesn't even make sense. The dragon was already here before I came to Japan. Crowd: (murmurs) Tim: Uh, well...liar, liar, pants on fire!
