Bicenthium Alloy is the space name for iron ore,[1][2] and one of the ingredients for a powerful explosive (the other being Element X).
Function[]
As mentioned, the marriage of Bicenthium Alloy with Element X can create a devastating explosion, said by Ultimos to be able to engulf an entire solar system.[2][3] However, the Bicenthium must be carefully handled and purified of its impurities in order to properly bond with Element X and make the powerful explosive. This can be accomplished in an industrial forge.[3]
If the metal is not absolutely pure, such as when found raw in a mine, a high-velocity collision with Element X will still generate an explosion, but at a much smaller scale; though still enough to leave a massive crater and severely injure anyone caught in it, including aliens as durable as Detrovites.[4]
The metal is very valuable in the rest of the galaxy, and can make one very rich.[1][4]
History[]
Earth's geosphere is rich with the mineral, but it is actually rare in the rest of the galaxy. Humans have been commonly using it for a wide breadth of applications on their home planet.
In The Galactic Enforcers, Vulkanus and SixSix plan to bond Element X with Bicenthium for the purpose of holding the galaxy for ransom. The two land on Earth in Pittsburgh in search of the ingredient. They managed to find a strip mine and steal from it industrial containers full of iron, which they then brought to a steel mill to use its forge to melt the iron down. Vulkanus stirred the molten iron with his hands until the mixture was perfect. However, the Galactic Enforcers and Ben Tennyson surprised him, and Gwen and Max Tennyson entered the control room of the mill and tried to mess up the mixture. Vulkanus eventually caught on to this and threw a flaming ball of molten iron at them, smashing the controls. Afterwards, Synaptak was able to take a full container of melted Bicenthium and poured it on the two criminals; Ultimos using his freeze breath to trap them.
