The wiki uses the following abbreviations to shorten the name of the Ben 10 shows, movies and specials. Abbreviations should only be used in infoboxes as captions for subject appearances, or in file names. Do not use abbreviations on the main body of any page, except in cases where series master briefs are cited (e.g. "AF Brief" to represent the Alien Force series master brief).

- Alien Force and Ultimate Alien (when describing the era as a whole): UAF

Ben 10-Specific Language[]
- The word "grandpa" should only be capitalized when used as a proper name (e.g. "Hey, Grandpa!"; "It's Grandpa Max!"), and not when used as a possessive noun (e.g. "This is my grandpa."; "Your grandpa Max.").
- When using an Omnitrix, the expressions to indicate each step would be:
- "activate" ; "turn on" ; "prime"
- "select" (through) ; "scroll through"; "cycle through" ; "dial in"
- "slam down" ; "smack down"
- "transform (into)" ; "turn into" ; "become"
- "time out"
- "detransform" ; "revert"
Omnitrix Anatomy[]
All the components of the Omnitrix (or the watch) from the bottom to the top:
- The band is what wraps around the user's arm. In the case of longer bands, such as on Ben 10,000's or any Ultimatrix, "gauntlet" would be a better substitute.
- The activation button is usually located on the band. Ben's Omnitrix from Omniverse features a touchpad as a means of activation.
- Once activated, the Omnitrix's central cylindrical core will pop up.
- The tip of the core always has a faceplate or dial.
- When selecting aliens, the Original Series featured silhouettes within a diamond; Alien Force and Ultimate Alien featured holograms; and Omniverse featured icons on an icon wheel.
- When in alien form, the Omnitrix appears as an Omnitrix symbol.
