Ben 10 Wiki
Real-world-icon copy 2.png Characters and/or events depicted in this article belong to the real world and not any continuity.

This page contains a list of longstanding misinformation regarding the Ben 10 franchise created and/or perpetuated by the wiki, some of which have officially (or dubiously) entered the Ben 10 canon. The primary reason this happened on the wiki's end was due to previous administrations being less concerned with fact-checking, thus false inclusions by fans went under the radar and, over time, became accepted as truth.

Definitively Canonized Misinformation

Vladat is a misspelling of the word Vladite, the original name for the species as revealed in pop-ups for the original series episode The Return.[pop-up 1][1] It originated on April 26, 2008 when the page was first created by user Demonic Knight, with the error being neglected for years. Eventually, the Omniverse episode The Vampire Strikes Back would refer to the species as Vladats, thereby canonizing the spelling.

Opticoids and Sightra

Eye Guy's page was edited on July 4, 2009 by an anonymous user, who claimed Eye Guy was an Opticoid from the planet Sightra. The page for Opticoids was later created on September 14, 2009 by another anonymous user, and the page for Sightra was created on October 19, 2009 by a user named The Ultimate Necrofriggian. No source for Opticoid or Sightra was provided in any of these instances, and they were not mentioned in any official media or merchandise. However, in FusionFall, released in 2009, Eye Guy was mentioned as being a "Scleran".[FusionFall 1] The master brief for Omniverse would later call Eye Guy an Opticoid from the planet Sightra,[OV Brief 1] thus canonizing them as his species and planet, respectively.

The Detrovites' home planet was first mentioned in Inferno, which aired on September 18, 2009, without being named. The name Vulcan was first added to the wiki to Vulkanus' page on January 10, 2010 by a user named Dee Jetray, then to Technorg's page on March 14, 2010 by Linkmadara. This page was created by an anonymous user on May 29, 2010. Finally, the name was added to the Detrovite page on January 18, 2011 by Ckbassist. No source for the name was provided in any of these instances. Vulcan was later listed as Vulkanus', and by extension, the Detrovites' home planet on the Ben 10 Ultimate Alien: The Wild Truth DVD, which was released in 2012,[merch 1] thereby canonizing it.

Dr. Aloysius James Animo

Dr. Animo's middle name, James, was first added to the wiki to his page on January 31, 2010 by a user named RaphBlade7. It was never mentioned in any official media or merchandise until the Omniverse episode It Was Them, which canonized it.

Dubiously Canonized Misinformation

Appoplexia was first added to the wiki to the disambiguation page for Rath (which served as the page for the Classic Continuity version of Rath at the time) by an anonymous user on January 13, 2010. It was added to the page for Appoplexians on February 18, 2010 upon its creation, by another anonymous user. The page for Appoplexia was later created on February 28, 2010 by a user named Linkmadara. No source for the planet's name was provided in any of these instances. Derrick J. Wyatt would later provide some information about Appoplexia, albeit without mentioning its name.[DJW 1] Appoplexia was not mentioned in any official media or merchandise until the Rath AW3: Endless Party Planet short, which takes place in the Reboot Continuity. Thus, the canonicity of Appoplexia in the Classic Continuity is dubious.

Anur Vladias

The name Anur Vladias does not appear in any official media or merchandise, nor in any background information revealed via pop-ups. Its first occurrence can be traced back to April 15, 2010, when user Deeman22baby inserted Anur Vladias in the Anur System page, during a series of misinformation edits on this wiki that have been since been rectified, presenting the planet as the homeworld of the Vladats instead of Anur Transyl. Omniverse art director, Derrick J. Wyatt, would later present background information about Anur Vladias upon being directly requested on October 26, 2014, seemingly unaware of the planet's fan-made origin. Thus, the canonicity of Anur Vladias is dubious.

Cooper Daniels

On August 10, 2009, Cooper's page was renamed to Cooper Daniels by a user named Grimzilla32. Daniels was later added to the page for Vengeance of Vilgax: Part 1 on September 13, 2009 by a user named Fiskerton Phantom. No source for the name was provided in either of these instances. Cooper's surname was never mentioned on-screen or on any merchandise until April 17, 2014, with the release of the graphic novel Parallel Paradox. However, since the book is non-canon[MW 1] and did not have the involvement of any crew members who worked on the series,[DJW 2] the wiki does not consider Daniels to be Cooper's canon surname.

Containment Suit Aliens

A fan once asked Dwayne McDuffie if Echo Echo was either a robot or some kind of living containment suit, and then shared a theory that Echo Echo's being is actually living sound waves for a containment suit to hold; Dwayne responded by saying "Echo [Echo] is a member of a race that just looks like that".[DM 1] Later, Derrick J. Wyatt would claim multiple times that Echo Echo was in fact a containment suit housing living sound waves while answering fan questions,[DJW 3][DJW 4] while specifying that he did not come up with the concept, and just heard it from someone else.[DJW 5] The canonicity of this information is dubious, as it was never found out who Derrick got it from.

Following his logic with Echo Echo, Derrick claimed that Ultimate Echo Echo was also living sound within a containment suit.[DJW 6]

Derrick once claimed that Feedback was also a living containment suit[DJW 3] like Echo Echo and NRG (who is confirmed to have a containment suit). Later on, he didn't recall saying it and retracted the statement.[DJW 7]

Poiana Lüncas was revealed to be Armodrillo's, and by extension, the Talpaedans', home planet in the fifty-third issue of the Cartoon Network Action Pack series, released on December 1, 2010.[merch 2] Despite this, on April 14, 2011, a user named Reece Philippe Villamonte edited Armodrillo's page, claiming that Terraexcava was his home planet. The page for Terraexcava would later be created on April 30, 2011 by another user named Sillifactu, citing Bandai's website and fan site as sources. Archived pages from the Bandai site do not seem to have any information regarding Armodrillo's home planet. Thus, Poiana Lüncas is the true name of the Talpaedans' home planet.
