When attacked in the jungle, Team Tennyson is saved by a toddler who looks eerily similar to Tim Buktu, but when they discover it really is a pint-sized version of the nefarious globetrotter, Ben knows there’s another threat looming, Nanny Nightmare!
Plot[]
Team Tennyson trek through a jungle, when a fly lands on Ben's neck. Gwen offers him her bug spray, which Ben rejects. She points out the only other option is to rub banana peels on one's self, as Max demonstrates. Ben decides to go with Gwen's bug spray, and Max calls the cousins over. They find a cascade of waterfalls, and Max suspects there is ruins nearby. Gwen says they'd have to watch out for ancient guardians watching over the Fountain of Youth. Ben makes fun of her for believing in the rumor, annoying her as they follow Max. Suddenly, Ben is tripped by a fun-sized Tim Buktu. Gwen and Max run to check in on Ben, and notice who had tripped him. Confused, the four are then confronted by Nanny Nightmare's henchmen, only they too, have been turned into babies. Tim Buktu roars at them, and they scatter. He tries to run further down the path, but trips. Max picks up Tim, and offers him a banana as a snack. Ben suspects he's up to something, but Max believes he wants to go somewhere, and they head down the path.
Later, the four find a temple in a clearing. They ascend the staircase, with Tim having fallen asleep. Max feels sorry for him, but Ben reminds him that Tim put tons of people in danger and had stolen his catchphrase. They eventually enter the temple, and catch their breathes as Tim wakes up. Inside, Ben tricks Gwen into thinking the guardian is there, much to her dismay. Suddenly, the four are surrounded by angry apes who start hollering at them. Ben activates the Omnitrix and transforms into Four Arms, quickly dispatching the apes. Gwen walks over to a mural and parts the vines covering it, revealing an image of a goblet. Max, meanwhile, tickles Tim. Gwen looks back, and deducts that the mural is showing the Fountain of Youth. Max denies it, saying it's just a legend, and Ben asks her to remove the other vines. Behind them is a picture of a stone guardian. Ben again makes fun of her for believing in the legend, and Tim motions to walk through a crevasse in the wall.
They venture deeper, and find the Fountain of Youth. They look in it, only to find the water missing. Gwen asks what happened to it, and Nanny Nightmare floats down with her parasol, spraying her Regressive Baby Powder on Max, turning him into a baby. Ben and Gwen try to help him, but Nanny Nightmare's henchmen trap the cousins under a playpen. She explains the situation to Ben and Gwen though a puppet show, wherein Nanny Nightmare's age-regressing potion would wear off, forcing her to find a more permanent solution. She eventually found the Fountain of Youth, and created an elixir that worked on her henchmen, however, before she could create more, Tim Buktu drank almost all the Fountain of Youth's water. She managed to turn him into a baby before he escaped, and now that they brought him back, she can "extrude" the water from him. Threatened, Tim attempts to escape, in turn revealing he could still speak like an adult. She tells her henchmen to get him, and Ben takes the opportunity to escape. Nanny Nightmare thinks ahead, however, and threatens Max if Ben doesn't help her get Tim back.
Tim, meanwhile, hides behind a wall in the temple. One of the henchmen coaxes him, but he ignores them and instead falls down a hole. Inside, he finds the apes huddling, as Ben and the henchmen block the exit. The apes stare at Ben, who asks what Tim did, He points out Ben was the one that punched them. Ben remembers that they are territorial, and suggests finding a way to join their group. Tim has no ideas, but one of the apes finds a banana in his pocket.
Back at the Fountain of Youth, Nanny Nightmare questions what's taking them so long. She leaves to do the work herself, but Ben appears before her. Tim and the henchmen appear alongside him, riding the apes. Gwen frees herself from the playpen, as Tim gives Nanny Nightmare instructions. He demands that she develops a cure for her potion and return them to their old selves. Nanny Nightmare calls upon the stone guardian, Bartholomew, to deal with the rebels. Ben attempts to transform into Humungousaur, but instead turns into Stinkfly. Stinkfly flies around Bartholomew, only to get swatted into a wall. Bartholomew tries to punch him, but Stinkfly flies away in time, and sprays his goo onto Bartholomew's hand, sticking it to the floor. Bartholomew frees himself and tastes the goo, not liking it. Tim and the henchmen ride their apes, who climb onto Bartholomew's face. They take his gemstone eyes, blinding him. Tim lures Bartholomew into the center of the room, and Stinkfly sprays his goo, getting him stuck. He sprays fumes in Bartholomew's face, while the henchmen wrap vines around his arms. They pull on the vines, and with Stinkfly's help, bring him to the ground, where he then shatters to pieces. Stinkfly, Gwen, the apes and the babies surround Nanny Nightmare, and demand a cure.
Later, Nanny Nightmare finishes concocting a new potion. She instructs to give Max a small sip, returning him to normal. Stinkfly hands the potion off to Tim, who downs the entire potion. As Max thanks Stinkfly and Gwen, Tim (now an adult) screams as the henchmen relentlessly attack him.
Tim: (snoring) Max: Aw, poor guy's all tuckered out. Ben: "Poor guy"? Do you not remember he put people's lives in danger, then pretended to be a hero? The guy stole my catchphrase!
Tim: That's it, I'm out of here! Ben: Oh, you can talk now?! Tim: Uh-huh, and run! Nanny Nightmare: Get him, or there will be no snack time!
Nanny Nightmare: What is taking so long? You really can't find dependable help anymore. Fine, I'll do it myself. (places Max in the Fountain of Youth) You, stay put. Max: (slips) Whoa!
After Four Arms scares off the chimpanzees, Gwen calls him "a regular Jane Goodall", referencing the English primatologist/anthropologist considered to be the foremost expert on chimpanzees.
Errors[]
The official synopsis states that Tim Buktu saves Team Tennyson from an attack in the jungle, however, in the episode, this is not the case.
Trivia[]
The puppets in the theater segment of the episode were all made by Stacy Shtogrin-Renfroe, with the cinematography being done by Rob Getzschman.
The arm seen when Tim Buktu is squeezed is Anne Allan's. Originally, his sponge body was meant to release water, but that wasn't dramatic enough, so Will Patrick spit out water from underneath to replace the effect. However, because of the water loosening the glue on the puppet, Tim's eyes pop off in the final shot.[AA 1]
This is the first and only time Ben gets a wrong alien in Season 3.
