Azmuth's Compound was Azmuth's base on Xenon.
Appearance[]
Azmuth's compound is built into a beige, cylindrical mountain on the surface of Xenon, itself dwarfing a To'kustar. The mountain is surrounded by a trench, which extends on opposing ends into ravines.[note 1] A small path leads to the base of the mountain, where there is an entrance.
Inside, there is steel beams and technology lining the walls and ceiling, though most of it is overrun with plant life, including a pack of Florauna hidden in plain sight. Shafts exist within this part of the compound, which even Four Arms was unable to significantly damage. From this entrance, there is a door which leads down a similarly overgrown tunnel. A laser trap exists within this tunnel, and at the end of it is yet another doorway leading to Azmuth's base of operations proper.
Within his lab there are several large machines that are primarily green and red, with thick yellow tubes run around a tiled floor. Most prominently in the center of the room is a computer with a bright yellow screen. Another path quickly leads outside to the very top of the spire, which is topped with a comparable smaller rock structure.
History[]
Ben 10[]
In Ben 10: Secret of the Omnitrix, Ben, Gwen, Tetrax and Myaxx found it overrun by vines, which then were revealed to be wild Florauna and attacked Gwen. The group shot at the Florauna, but they kept coming. Gwen saved Ben from one, but it grabbed her and dragged her away instead. Seeing Gwen in serious danger, Ben had no choice but to turn into Four Arms, not caring about the dangers of the Omnitrix's self-destruct countdown despite Myaxx's warning. Four Arms chased after the Florauna attempting to rescue Gwen, but he was ensnared by countless vines, and it dragged her underground. All the other Florauna stopped attacking and left. Four Arms broke free and tried to rescue Gwen, but he could not due to an impenetrable hatch closing behind it.
Four Arms pounded at the ground trying to open the hatch to no avail. Tetrax sadly told Four Arms that there was no way to save her now. Those wild Florauna were never going to back down until they had one of them. Out of cold fury of losing Gwen on his watch, especially after sacrificing herself to save him, Four Arms punched the wall hard declaring that it should've been him to die at the Florauna's tendrils which he utterly destroyed and caused debris to fall around him. After transforming back, Ben collapsed to the ground and angrily blamed Myaxx for this whole disaster. Ben claimed that if she hadn't helped Azmuth create the Omnitrix, he never would have found it and Gwen would still be alive. Myaxx angrily fired back by telling Ben that she is a selfish and self-centered being, but it takes one to know one. Tetrax stopped their arguing and took them to a place Azmuth may have gone to if he were to survive an attack like that. Before getting on the way to Azmuth's lair, Ben looked back at the hatch where Gwen was taken, regretting that he couldn't save her.
On the way, Ben was crestfallen at his greatest failure. Tetrax tells Ben that he knows exactly what he's going through and tells him his origin story. Tetrax said that they have to keep going before the Omnitrix self-destructs so that Gwen and Gluto and everyone else wouldn't have died in vain. Myaxx stopped and Ben and Tetrax flew through a security laser that triggered an energy field and Tetrax saved Ben as they flew through it. A camera recognized the Omnitrix. A hologram of a mechanical being appeared, asking what Ben is doing with "his" Omnitrix and reveals that he is Azmuth. Ben introduced himself and then explained the situation, asking Azmuth to turn off the SDM, but Azmuth shut more doors and refused. Ben refused to give up, stating that Gwen sacrificed her life to stop the detonation, but Azmuth shrugged that off. Ben's anger reached a boiling point and he transforms into Cannonbolt. He rushed headfirst into the doors trying to break through, but the doors were equipped with electric fences designed to rebuff such attacks. Declaring that he had come too far and lost too much to be stopped and will not be denied, Cannonbolt revved up full speed and smashed the doors down like a row of dominos.
Finally, inside Azmuth's sanctum, Cannonbolt demanded Azmuth shut off the Omnitrix, but when he further refused, Ben declared that if the universe was doomed anyway, he would not be denied the pleasure of vanquishing Azmuth first. Ben landed a critical blow and destroyed his suit. Azmuth climbed out, revealing himself to be a Galvan, and Cannonbolt reverted back into Ben. Tetrax then demanded Azmuth stop the countdown, but stated that the universe being destroyed was the best thing that could happen given his inability to see the good in people, revealing that the Omnitrix was intended to be a device for understanding all the beings of the universe, and people like Ben and Vilgax had caused it to be perceived as a weapon. Ben explained how he has occasionally used the Omnitrix for personal gain but used it to protect those who cannot protect themselves for the most part. He finally managed to change his mind by telling him that to make a world worth saving, he can't just be a selfish jerk like Ben used to be himself. The lair began to collapse and the four ran outside, where Vilgax, SixSix, and many Mechadroids and Crewmen were waiting for them.
