Alien Vermin[TP 1] are a species of rat-like aliens that have made a number of minor appearances in the franchise.
Appearance[]
Alien vermin are small lanky creatures with four legs that each end in a tentacle; a long tail that can curl up; two long ear-like growths on their foreheads; and round spikes on their shoulders. Their faces have four eyes, two of which are on the sides of their face and the other two being in front and much smaller; a mouth of two prominent spiky teeth and a third shorter tooth behind; and six whiskers. They are primarily dark in color, but have a second lighter tone of skin on their underbellies, tail, face, and the ends of their ears and feet.
In the Original Series, the vermin's skin were navy blue, and had a second tone of dark orange. Their eyes and teeth were yellow.
As of Alien Force and onward, the vermin's skin tones are now pure black and a muted bright pink, respectively. Their eyes are pink and their teeth are white.
History[]
Ben 10[]
In Ben 10: Secret of the Omnitrix, vermin were seen all over Incarcecon. Two of them were seen rooting around in the garbage pile of Sanitation Disposal Bay #4. Another ran around on the main prison floor Ben, Gwen, and Tetrax were exploring, but was quickly crushed and eaten by the Nightmarish Alien.
Five Years Prior to Omniverse[]
In Weapon XI: Part 2, as Argit sat in a cage in the Rooter Headquarters, a 12-year-old Kevin snuck him a limp vermin as extra rations. He also explained his plan to eliminate Ben, but Argit only half listened, as the vermin sprang to life and tried to run away.
Alien Force[]
In Voided, a vermin was seen amongst some aliens that were thrown into the Null Void by the Galvan, in a story told by a Null Void settler.
Omniverse[]
In The More Things Change: Part 2, a vermin was seen crawling along a pipe in Undertown.
Behavior[]
Much like Earth rats, alien vermin can be found as an invasive species in places all over the galaxy, (assumedly) due to their small size and ability to stow away on spacecraft.
Alien vermin are naturally skittish, and will flee if they feel threatened. This is in part due to them being considered a prey animal.[1]
Alien vermin will forage on the ground for their food, even looking in garbage patches. They have been shown doing this in groups.[1]
