Well for the present it's there, spamming all of CN's spare timeslots. TT fans would like more TT, especially after the sour note the series was left on. But instead this show is there imitating the old one but goes "we know you want the old one, but you're not getting it". Sure you can say it's a different show, but they used the same names, same voice actors, same setting, and constantly reference the old show. That cannot be ignored by OS TT fans, as TTG is just stealing the name of a successful franchise to shoehorn their own slapstick.
The only thing that I can see that resembles the old show are the character's voices. Their personalities have been changed, the art style is changed, there are many characters that aren't in the original (like the freaking ninja turtles), as well as a different genre all together (comed). References are just references, this show is not canon to the series as all, it hardly has a canon in its own universe, since every episode is a reset button. Robin dies in last episode? Well he's alive again!
I don't see why TT fans should be offended by this show, if anything, they are wasting their time by giving this show any attention. To CN, any publicity is good publicity. The angry fans are even noticed by the show itself. Also fun fact: TTG is not even CN's most viewed show, Adventure Time, Regular Show and Steven Universe all out number it, despite their air slots being few and far between. The reason why TTG is on all the time is because CN is desperatley trying to get people to watch. And isn't this show ending soon anyways? Or was that something else?
Their personalities have been flanderized. They've taken traits from the old characters and exaggerated them to ridiculous levels. Beast Boy went from being a laidback mischievous but well meaning prankster, to a lazy jerk who cares little for others. Starfire has gone from being kind and sweet, to being nice to suicidal levels.
Because this thing shouldn't even exist. It was wrong for them to steal the name of a popular franchise and ride the reputation of it to help this slapstick gain attention. They were just lazy to not come up with new slapstick characters, like Uncle Grandpa did. Or maybe they didn't want to fail as badly as that show, so hijacked the rep.
Where did you get that figure from? If TTG isn't currently the most viewed show, it has been quite a few times in the past. The reason it airs so much is because it's a cashcow franchise of flashy colors and visual crack that kids like watching over and over. There is far more hype for TTG and it's BBRae, than AT or RS. Steven Universe is the only thing with more popularity because it's actually a decent show with far fewer haters.
I don't think they took any traits of the original, like some other fans has said before, they are nothing like the original.
Stealing the name of a franchise? I guess Superman and Friends is also stealing the name of Superman the Animated Series. They are nothing alike.
I remember a report about it, I can't find it anymore, unfortunately.
I said they exaggerated the traits. Magnified all their unlikable aspects that were present in trace amounts. Raven is the only one who is mostly in-character of her original self, but even she's become more aggressive.
Thing with TTG is the creators never even saw the original show. They wanted to make some dumb slapstick, saw a past superhero show with a lot of success, and took those existing characters and turned it into TTG. LAZY. They have no right to use an existing franchise name if they weren't even going to do the bare minimum research on what it was about.
Well even if the figure is correct, I distinctly remember TTG has been the most viewed before.
Eh, I suppose.
If the guys who made it didn't did research, we wouldn't get charatcers like Control Freak, Mammoth or Dr. Light. It's a spin off that even make fun of themselves and their audience so god damn much. I even goes to some outlandish themes to prove that it isn't suppose to be like TTG. I can understand when some says that a character from OS is ruined in Omniverse, because they are in the same continuity and they are trying to be the same show, but TTG is so different, so outlandish and is nothing like the original that it is hard to believe that people keep on comparing them.
Before, but now with all the bad rep it has less views.
They took quick glances at episodes, but did not watch the series from start to end. They probably picked up characters along the way, but would not have known about them when they started TTG.
If it was just a lighthearted humor then I wouldn't care it was there at all, might even enjoy it a bit. But it has to be so mean-spirited and full of aesop. You know actually one episode indicated TT and TTG are in the same universes, the "Fourth Wall" one of the hater bashing episodes revealed Control Freak (from the original series) used his powers to reset reality and changed the Titans to their TTG incarnation, due to wanting to deal with a less powerful lamer version of the Titans.
It's still immensely popular among little kids under 8. They're drawn to the flashy colors, stupid songs, and BBRae.
plus horrible plots, like the episode where they have responsibility as a bad thing, the boys vs girls episode, the episode where they Freaking keep repeating waffles over and over. Plus the cash grab episode "The Return of Slade", which tricked lots of fans into thinking Slade would have been a main focus in the episode, but nope instead we have even more stupidity of Beastboy and Cyborg thinking clowns are awesome.

One: they didn't watch the original show. The original was not a DC satire.
Anyways, TT and TTG are not in the same universe. They're teasing old fans of TT. You're taking a show where dinosaurs fight each other for humor way too literally.
And yes it's popular, it appeals to this generation, not teenagers who live in their mother's basement.
When the hell did say the original was a satire? The original is widely recognized as the best version of the Titans ever (including the comics), especially Raven who was done so well the comic Ravens began to be based more off the cartoon.
They admitted to only taking quick glances to get an idea. Probably just to pick up character names here and there. Part of me thinks they just searched the characters from TT wiki.
That's off topic. Echoson was saying people shouldn't be offebded because it's set in a different universe. They are still different versions of the same characters, and are heavily similar to the original, but not likeable. If they completely revamped the characters like Young Justice Beast Boy, or the DCEU Cyborg, then that's a different story. But they keep referencing the old show, having "do-overs" of TT episodes but full of their silliness.
You calling me a teenager who lives in my mother's basement?
