While I understand where you're coming from, your argument kinda falls apart when you consider that we've had cases of aliens in the games having powers that they don't have in the show, like Reboot Upgrade's optic beam.
Tom had no involvement in lore-related stuff. He was an artist and may not have known that the game is non-canon.
His statement on the generators can be added as just his opinion.
Jim's take is by far my favorite and the only one I like, honestly. I didn't like what Omniverse or the reboot tried to do with his voice.
